The season will be opening up in Billings in about a week and a half. First game will be on June 20th. They have just re-upped with the Reds and will be an affiliate through 2016.

A very tentative roster. Only 8 pitchers and 1 position player listed. It won't be long now.

I don't believe that is a tentative roster, but just the left overs from last year that haven't played yet this season.

You are probably right. It is all I saw. Radhames Quezada played this year at Bakersfield. Although, as a procedural move, they may have slipped him back onto the Billings' roster. In any case, it is getting pretty close.

I would swap whatever was on this team with the Pensacola team.

That Pensacola club is pretty hard to look at.

off-topic: Those old school Mustangs uni's, specifically the hat, are nice. It kinda sucks, in my opinion, that the vast majority of minor league teams need to be all gimmicky with names/hats/jerseys/etc to sell tickets.

Seeing Billings name mentioned reminds me of the early 1980's when I moved to Calgary and I'd get to see Billings play agaisnt thold Calgary Expos

I saw the following players at one time or other pass through town:

Danny Tartabull
Paul O'Neil
Tom Browning
Kal Daniels
Rob Dibble
Lenny Harris
Joe Oliver
Jeff Montgomery
Kurt Stillwell

the 2013 Billings roster is out . It is more exciting then Pensacola's. I am sure I will be checking in on Phil daily.

I don't know how accurate it is though. It has far too many players listed, including a few guys who are currently either in Dayton or on the Dayton DL.

that's purity common with SS leagues. The players might stay behind in Az injured but they still have to be assigned for paper transactions.

Doesn't explain why Pedro Diaz is on the roster. Or Carlos Sanchez. Both are currently on the Dayton roster.

The Billings team sent out that "tentative" roster by twitter.

Gabriel Rosa has been moved to the outfield?

Gabriel Rosa has been moved to the outfield?

Seems so. There has always been talk that he would wind up in center.

Because between Hamilton, LaMarre, Perez, Ervin, Arias and Reynoso we don't have enough CF depth in the system?

Not to mention Yorman, who probably ends up in a corner anyway.

Figure it out later. Play guys where they fit at the next level now.

Rosa will not be in CF. He's behind both Ervin and Reynoso at that spot on this team, I'd think

Team looks OK, not great. Love the upside in the OF. Really hoping Valor and Washington can play well in the middle of the infield.

Who are the starters? Garrett, Lively (coming off a full season of starting at Central Florida, not sure how much work they want him to get)... then who? Jose Guzman looks like he's got a good arm, and he started last year, so I'm guessing he'll be in the rotation. But after that, I dunno.

Would be nice to see HS signs from 2012 Rachal and Ortiz show something.

Disappointed to see Ervin starting in Billings. With Reynoso there, and given that he is a first-round advanced college bat, I would've hoped to see him start in Dayton alongside Winker. Oh well.

Billings OF will be interesting to watch, with Rosa in LF, and Ervin and Reynoso alternating (my guess?) between CF and RF?

Only other interesting players IMO are Amir Garrett and Ben Lively, at least at this point, and I guess the middle infield of Valor and Washington. Doubtful whether Valor ever hits though.

I like to see him there. Even if only for a couple weeks. Show the folks in Billings some "love".... they want to see our big prospects also.
