Would Bantz be worth a look? The Reds need Catchers in the system.

Rockies Designate Eric Young Jr. For Assignment
By Zach Links [June 12 at 6:56pm CST]
The Rockies have designated Eric Young Jr. for assignment, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post (on Twitter). The move will allow the Rockies to activate right-hander Chris Volstad.

The outfielder posted a .316/.377/.448 slash line in 196 plate appearances last year but hasn't found the same success in 2013. In 180 PAs this year, the 28-year-old has hit .242/.290/.352 with one homer. Young has experience at all three outfield positions as well as 49 games at second base.

Just throwing this out there to challenge you because I see a bit of a trend in the threads you start.....

Perhaps as part of these threads, you also include some analysis and insight as to why a player may or not be worth a look?

In a case like this, where the player essentially has no conceivable value, that type of analysis might be worthy of contribution, and perhaps even give you pause as to reconsider starting the thread in the first place.

In regards to Bantz, no, I don't think he would be worth a look. He literally offers not one quality I would want in a major league player. If the Reds had an injury at the AAA level, he might be worth a grab simply to fill the roster spot. As Louisville currently does not have an injury at the catcher position, there is not a need in any capacity for the Reds organization.
