You know what makes me turn off the game (which I have)? Watching the poor players on this team try to pass themselves off as everyday players.

Note: Heisey looks like he's been taking batting lessons from Cozart with that lean.

I know some folks think he is drab and vanilla, but I much prefer Jim Kelch to Thom.

I think doing nothing at the trade deadline did not help. I have talked to a lot of people that say they are done with 2014. I think a five-game win streak will bring them back.

Just one person's barely-educated opinion: they should have made some kind of deal. Show the fans you are trying. Perception is often reality.

Dumbest thing in sports. So sad that we have to be gifted runs by horrible rules.

It is a stupid rule. And it is sad. And that's another thing that's going to be lost in this.

they will look at it after this season and fix the obvious holes... there are things in every rule you donīt really think about until you see how it plays out => we will see changes

calling the end of baseball because of a rule that is stupid is not much smarter than the rule

and if you know that you arenīt allowed to block the plate without the ball, you shouldnīt stand in front of the bag and hope that they donīt call it

I agree with the marlins announcers etc. it shouldnīt be safe

but on the other side. why is the catcher that "stupid" and does something against the rule when there is no need at all in this situation?

But it should be a safe call by the rules. I don't care for the new rule, but it is the rule.

Maybe now I can get over the umpires calling HBP on Chapman vs. Chase Utley in Gm 2 of the 2010 NLDS. This game doesn't matter as much but that call just now was much worse.

I do not like the rule but after other calls we've seen they absolutely had to call that safe. It's dumb but it is the rule.

Terrible rule. Nothing remotely dangerous about that play.

Not sure why catcher 's don't just strattle the plate like the SS does covering 2nd..... They aren't allowed to plow them.

Which is anther l problem - the Reds had virtually identical plays go both ways - I believe both were against the Pirates this year. The replay crew isn't calling it the same way every time

Hindsight being 20/20 and all that, with the problem the Reds have had scoring runs, as a 3rd base coach, would you have sent Cozart knowing Ludwick is the hitter and there's 2 out? Do you really trust Ludwick to get a hit or walk there?

none earned
