"They didn't like it in Pittsburgh."
"If they knew what they liked, they wouldn't live in Pittsburgh."
Preston Sturgess - "Sullivan's Travels"

Clever. My wife, a Pittsburgh native, agrees.

Phillip Ervin just homered for the second consecutive day.

If Ervin could take a step forward, it would make the future look a lot better. It would be nice to have an OF prospect who can actually play the position that will be open. Fingers still crossed on him.

Ervin put up a solid 66 BB/98 K ratio last season to go along with a .346 OBP, 34 SB, and solid defense. His hit tool was rated very highly coming out of college. If he can boost that average back above .265, we're looking at a potential 20 HR/.340+ OBP hitter. Reggie Sanders, anyone?

Pitching...what they see in Moscot, I'll never know. Same with Villereal. Matheus is toast--why they invited him back is a mystery. I guess that's what spring training is for, but it seems like a waste of time.
