That's the spirit. The reds will need to pitch the ninth!

I've only been watching baseball for 40 years. I know the rules ;) Oops.

It keeps getting greater by the minute.

April 17, 1976:
Phillies 18
Cubs 16

May 17, 1979:

Cub fans react to can-o-corn fly balls like they're sailing over Waveland.

Sampson's hair must be growing back. A scoreless 5th!

I'm still watching because I'm not sure I can justify spending projector bulb hours watching The Force Awakens for the fourth time in my home theater room. But it's a close call. #honesty #geek #firstworldproblems

That's a no brainer. Watch the Rogue One trailer first to get in the mood and then put Force Awakens on.

Think of tonight's bullpen performance as an X-Wing assault on the Death Star. Just watch to see who comes out alive at the end.

Cubs announcers just said one problem for the Reds Monday night was that they couldn't get the ball to Hoover in the ninth.

If it makes anyone feel better, the Pirates ran into a buzzsaw too at home against Detroit. Just lost 7-3. I had the feeling the Buccos weren't all that good. Pitching is their problem, also.

I don't think Holt will ever be any good hitting Big League pitching

Sub par pitching and a small strike zone does not bode well for facing the Cubs lineup.

That's the famous recipe for a #1 draft pick. It actually works with any MLB lineup.

Suspect so as well. Love his numbers in the minors, but he's consistently looked overmatched when given big league chances.

1970 team gave up 15 to the Giants, they last walked 10 last year and 2014, prior to that 2012

http://www.aol.com/article/2014/08/31/japanese-high-school-pitcher-throws-709-pitch-50-inning-shutout/20955045/

Now this is some pitching. (Over 4 days, but still.)

Japanese high school pitcher throws 709-pitch, 50 inning shutout to win tournament semi-final.

Opponent Jukiya Ishioka, from Sotoku High School, also lasted all 50 innings. He threw 689 pitches but was given the loss after surrendering three runs in the top of the 50th inning.

Dice-K might be even more impressive.

Former Red Sox star, and current New York Mets journeyman, pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka rose to national fame after a 250-pitch, 17-inning effort in 1988 – the day after tossing a 148-pitch complete game shutout.
