#Reds Scott Schebler is now rehabbing with the Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos. He was with the Bats last night.

I am pretty sure he goes on the DL when Schebler is back which is what makes him pinch running yesterday hard to explain as it just starts the clock over again on the DL

The Hanshin Tigers of the Japanese League just turned an insane double play on the Yomiuri Giants. Bases loaded and runner on 2nd was tagging up on a deep ball to the RCF and ball gets dropped by the CF, he picks it up throws to the SS and ball gets way away on a sailing throw and off SS glove and rolls way towards the LF foul line. LF picks it up and fires it to 3rd to try and get the runner who started on first as he was trying to get to 3rd after going back towards first as he thought it was going to be caught. 3rd baseman fires it to 2nd base to get batter out...covering second was the 1st baseman who noticed 2nd base uncovered and raced ahead of the runner on the crazy play....runner stops and heads back towards first but the runner on 3rd heads home so the first baseman tosses it home to the catcher Tachikara Oh to get the runner out at the plate (during this the runner heading back towards first falls down with some 20 feet to go with an apparent knee injury) and Oh fires ball to the RF who came in to cover first on the insane play and RF tags out the injured runner for the 8-6-7-5-3-Oh-9 double play. Love that we're keeping a guy on the active roster who literally cannot swing a bat.

And on top of that we used him as a pinch runner yesterday to start over his retroactive DL date.
Sheldon has an article up that he took BP today

But yeah he should have been dl’d days ago

I couldn’t tell if it passsd in front or behind the foul pole. But I thought where the ball landed, it was clearly foul.

As did I. The fans didn’t object. So Occam’s Razor says it’s foul.

But it went behind the pole on my frame by frame!

Impressive stuff from Castillo thru 5 tonight.
But as much as I love MLB, the I hate is no salary cap.
Every other professional sport has a salay cap and that's why so many different teams are competitive.
No matter if Castillo is the next Johnny Cueto or even better, he will only be a Redleg until he hits free agency.
Unless the Reds want to take a chance on him and try to lock him up now. Which is actually what I would try to do. Suraez too.

If one game defined careers, every player would be making $15 million/year. It doesn't work that way for players, and it shouldn't work for managers.

The Brewer’s starting pitching is and has been a mess this season. I don’t get how the baseball world missed that this offseason while praising them non-stop. Knebel’s injury has compounded that.

They greatly improved their team in the off seaaaon. That deserves praise. Did they do enough? That’s to be determined. They currently are playing .500 ball, within a game or two of the teams expected to lead the division.

But the real question is who had a better offseason, the Brewers or Reds?

Where is the fastball he sported last year? I remember him siting 97-98 and having the occasional 99 when he needed it.

He's pretty much sitting 95-96 with a top ot of 97 right now. Subtle, but a noticeable decrease.

You can pose all the additional questions you want, but the hole(s) left in their rotation is/was startling for a team “going for it.” That’s all.
