I got suckered into the 100 Revolutionary soldiers, they came in a box about as big as a check book box. Each guy was about 1/2 inch tall.

I never delivered Grit nor did I stop a robbery with my pair of Dingo Boots. :thumbdn:

You know what else I got suckered into was the electronic football game. You could get whatever team you wanted and an opponent, then you line them up and turn on the vibrator thing, and your guys move.

Except they never moved where you wanted them to, and that little directional thing on the bottom of the players worked not at all. Then you had to cheat by picking your ball carrier (with the foam football) and move him beyond the defenders so he could score, but he still always went backwards.

Ahhhh, good times

Why do different clouds form at different heights in the atmosphere?
A: The characteristics of clouds are dictated by the elements available, including the amount of water vapor, the temperature at that height, the wind, the interplay of other air masses, mountains, etc.

Use clorox bleach :D

I've got some buddies and we all drink bleach
You know we practice what we preach
We're not a drunken bunch of frat-boys
Trashed on beers
Or a stoned bunch of hippies
With no careers
I wanna drink bleach with a Georgia peach

My pals and I all drink Clorox
Or eat Snowy Bleach right out of the box
Teenage suicide rate's shot high
And we understand the reasons why
Bleach does more than whiten socks

Don't you wanna hang out with the Bleach Boys, baby?
In a world where ministers murder golf pros
Don't you wanna drink some bleach tonight?

Maybe there'll be a party at the beach
We'll ***** about life and chugalug bleach
No one's getting high, and no one's getting drunk
I've got a case of bleach stashed in my trunk
I wanna die with Clorox within reach

I'm very proud of the respect I've earned
And my voice is very deep cause my throat got burned
Bleach keeps you young so I've been told
Cause no one who drinks it lives to get old
Drink it with a chaser was the first thing that I learned

Don't you wanna hang out with the Bleach Boys baby?
In a world where midgets run for mayor
Don't you wanna drink some bleach tonight?

I had 26 friends in the beginning
But now it seems our numbers are thinning
Some people drive fast, others love to bet
Still others snort coke in a private jet
But drinking bleach is my way of winning

Don't you wanna hang out with the Bleach Boys baby?
In a world where welders own our schools
Don't you wanna drink some bleach tonight?

I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I'm so bored I'm drinking bleach
I am so bored!
I am so bored!

This probably belongs on the pet peeve thread - but I'd rather put it here first.

I hate when a couple goes into a restaurant and either in a booth or at a table that has two chairs on each side and then proceeds to sit on the same side! What the hell is that??????????

If two girls go to the same booth they don't sit on the same side. If two guys go they don't sit on the same side. Its just stupid - what are you gonna hold hands while your eating morons! You have to be so close that for one freaking meal you can't sit across from each other, you know, so you can look at each other during the conversation??!!

It is so stupid, you sit across from each other to see each other while you talk/eat, generally just the experience of eating out, yet these morons have to sit on the same side cause they just can't be that far apart from each other for one freakin meal!!!

My gawd, it looks so stupid! Morons!!

I thought the SAT and ACT were bad when I took them. Then I took the GRE, and that was bad too. THEN I took the MAT (Miller Analogies Test), which consists of only 100 analogies. That was no fun either.

To sum up, I give all these tests a big :thumbdn:I took the ACT twice because there were a couple of other people in my class who were tied with me for high ACT score and i wanted to be #1. I got the same score the second time around, while one of the other guys improved his score and broke the tie. He's now a physician with a law degree. I am neither of those.

I liked the GRE better than the LSAT. That was probably part of the reason I chose grad school over law school.

Between 11:30 an 1 every day my big cat (as opposed to the small one) comes down and demands that I pet him currently he is 6 inches from my head.
If our dog is asleep and somebody talks to wake her up, she invariably comes over to me to get her head scratched. Not a bad thing though. Nothing is softer than a lab's ear.

Som unrelated comments:

1.) I'm going to Purdue on Thursday. Any hints on a good place to take my boss for dinner?

2.) We just got a pool table delivered and set up today. I can beat my kids like a drum for now, but I don't think that is going to last. I'm like the old gunslinger past his prime.

One of my best friends just moved back up to Cleveland at my college today (I'm heading up Thurs), and she called me all confused and upset... People kept stopping by her room to tell her how sorry they were and that they'll take her out drinking later. She had no clue why she was getting everyone's sympathy until finally someone revealed the complete truth- her boyfriend of 9 months had arrived on campus yesterday and told everyone that they had broken up over the summer. But my friend had NO CLUE about this development!! This wasn't just another boyfriend for her... This was her first love and her first, well... Oh, and our dog caught a full blast from a skunk a year or so back. The vet recommended Dawn dishwashing detergent, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. We did that about 50 times in the first night. Man, it was bad.

It took a couple weeks for the overt smell to go away. It took about 6 mos. for it to go away completely. Every time she got wet (and she's a lab and gets wet a lot), the skunk smell would come back.

Brand new skunk on a dog smells like burnt tires. It is something I'd really rather not go through again.

I just wonder how many trials they had to go through to come up with that combination. :D

Many girls are petulant. Many are not.

Gosh and I was just going to make the generalization that all disaster relief guys from NC who have liked the Reds since 1962 are hot. Sexy. Whoa baby. Vavavavoom.

But I won't do that since I don't want to be evil. :mhcky21:

I know, I'm sorry... I'm just frustrated, that's all... In the past week, 2 of my closest girlfriends have been treated rather badly by guys, and suddenly, without warning, the guy I had just started to date quit talking to me. Out of nowhere!!! I've called him a couple times and left some messages even, but I've heard NOTHING back from him!! This is the same guy who used to call or email me EVERY SINGLE DAY for a month!!! We'd talk for hours almost every day, and now... He's been kidnapped by aliens, evidently... :thumbdn:

Well now, let's not get hasty. Perhaps I should have said SOME generalizations are evil.

Yeah, that's the ticket. SOME of them are evil. While SOME of the others, oh, say, like the one you randomly mentioned, are right on the mark... bullseye.... dead center.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

Hey, SB11..... I've read enough of your stuff to know how genuine you are, and I've heard enough from people I respect, like that exceptional judge of character Creek14 person (see above post) to know that you are a class act.

No doubt about it, the two examples you cited are textbook cases of evil boys. And they all too often find their way to nice girls/women like you.

I just don't want us all painted with the same broad brush because of the insensitive and immature actions of the least common denominator.

I just hope you weren't offended by my post, which is merely the result of an annoyed, bitter girl!! :MandJ: Sometimes I use this thread as a way to vent, but fear not, I know very well that there are many wonderful (NOT evil) men out there, starting with all the great guys here at RedsZone!! :)

Not offended at all, SB.

I've got a 23 year old son who just got married, and I'm very proud of how he's stepped up to his responsibilities and turned from a boy into a man.

I always believed he had it in him, but seeing it happen has warmed my heart in ways I've never imagined.

He's a far better man at his age than I was.

And I know that all the trials and trevails that you young women go through with idiot boys are only making you stronger, preparing you for the day when you meet a true man who is worthy of your intelligence, your personality, your grace.

Your physical beauty is the icing on the cake. The things that last, the things that matter.... those things that make a difference when the chips are down and times are rough, the times that we ALL go through in our journey through life.... don't lose sight of you base values, and never lose faith in the goodness inherent in men and women just because you come across a few bad apples along the way.

Good thought, but he has to work, so he can't go on a vacation or anything. He went to high school with my best college friend and lives down the road from her, so she's seen him a few times this week and told me that he isn't acting weird or seeing another girl. He did mention to her that he couldn't go on our date this weekend since he has to work, but she didn't think it was odd until she mentioned that fact to me and I had no clue about the change of plans!! I really don't know what to think... He was telling both me and all of his friends at home how much he liked me, but now it's like he flipped a switch and I don't even exist anymore!!

Sorry to hear about all of this, Super_Barry. It really bothers me when some guys act that way, because it gives the rest of us a bad name. I'm a guy obviously, but I'll never understand that actions of some. It's just important to remember that not all of us are that way and that one day you will find a guy that will treat you the right way and will make you forget all of the bad experiences you've had. :)

ditto what LF says.

My dad gave me the best advice when it came to girls and dating. "No matter the result, return them in better shape than you found them."

Believe it or not, there are decent, quality guys out there that care. Now I just need to convince myself that all girls don't go for the jerks.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

or pharaphrased....

Give us your tired of the constant sniveling on the baseball side,
your huddled posters yearning to breathe free,
the wretched refuse of your game threads.
Send these, the postless, moderator tossed to me,
I lift my thread beside the non-judgemental door of fellowship among all Reds fans, great and small.

Yeah, many girls do have that nasty habit of falling for the jerks... I have to say that if a guy's a jerk deep down inside, I am out of there!! If you include this last boy of mine, I've dated a "grand total" of 3 guys, and the first 2 of them were absolute sweethearts without a hint of jerk in them. I'm puzzled about this last one, though, since my best friend has known him since they were in diapers and he's always treated girls very well and with the utmost respect in the past.

<Rosie gets serious>

Okay, in light of all the boy talk in the last couple posts, I just want to clarify, for RFS62 if no one else, that I do not think all boys/men are evil. I know I've made a few posts along those lines. However, I am friends with a lot of guys, and I wouldn't surround myself with jerks.

BUT when it comes to dating or having a more-than-friends relationship with a guy, well ... let's just say I have trust issues, and rightfully so. I also have pretty high standards. I've been around enough to know what kind of man would suit me; he ain't easy to find, and I'm not about to "settle"! :)

That said, it doesn't really matter anyway, because I'm not looking for him any time soon.

Now, onto this post:

My dad gave me the best advice when it came to girls and dating. "No matter the result, return them in better shape than you found them."

Believe it or not, there are decent, quality guys out there that care. Now I just need to convince myself that all girls don't go for the jerks.

Paintmered, I don't really understand that advice. Is it just another way of saying "treat people well"? Cause I'm sure this isn't what it means, but I've read it a couple times and I can't help but think it implies something along the lines of women need to be fixed. (And who exactly are you "returning" them to?)

Yeah, okay, I'm showing my inner feminist. I admit it. :)

But I will validate the second part of your post. Not all women go for jerks, I promise you. Nothing turns me off faster than a guy acting like a jerk.

I have nothing to add to any of this, but I haven't posted in a couple of pages and I didn't wanna be left out.

My father gave me some advice too, and I'd like to share it with you. One day while I was raking the yard, right after my apparent acceptance to Princeton, he said "Joel (which is funny, cause its not my name and I didn't apply to Princeton), Joel, sometimes you gotta say What the Heck"

And thats been my philosophy with women since then!
