Probably not as bad as the Whiplash Kellon Winslow II has right now.

Hopefully Milton can earn back some self-respect after his debacle last week.

Hopefully Milton came ready to pitch today. I also hope he took Mileys advice and pitches inside.

Also I think having 2 game threads is not going to help with bandwith.

Hey everyone. Looking forward to a good game tonight, although I wish Freel were in the lineup. He is (4-11) against Carpenter lifetime, and Jimenez hasn't hit well batting as a lefty this year.

On the Cardinals Fox Sports channel they interviewed some Reds about the horrid Milwaukee series. Adam Dunn said that the past 4-5 years the Reds have dominated early, and hopefully this year's scuffles will provide some reverse pyschology. Sean Casey just said it was in the past and that the Reds play well at home and are looking to win today. Jason LaRue said basically the same thing as Casey except that they should have won a few of the games on the road trip.

Damn, on ESPN baseball challenge I pretty much go w/ WMP and Kearns back and forth in RF, but you have to make the change the night before. I finally gave up on waiting for Pena, and switched back to Kearns. Yet tonight they go w/ WMP. Miley needs to start calling me w/ who he's going to go with the night before, I'm getting slaughtered.

This game comes down to Eric Milton and Eric Milton alone(ignore Don Eric if he is saying his "advice" ). If he is going to continue the pitching trend, the Reds have no shot this game without a big offensive effort. Somebody has to stand up, throw up 7-8 innings and make a example to the rest of the downtrodden group.

Yeah, I heard about this through some Brown's fans on the floor. Can't say I was a fan of Winslow, but I do feel for him with the bad luck he's encountered, if you want to call driving a motorcycle through a parking lot at 35 mph bad luck.

I agree Aronchis, although Jimenez has seemed to fare better lower in the order throughout his career. I don't know if it's pure coincidence or a different approach by him, but it's been fairly consistent.

That's why I really like Freel leading off.(Not to mention what Freel brings to the table)

I think Ryan Freel makes things happen better at the top of the lineup.

Jimenez is a good contact hitter, and he'd benefit from moving down in the lineup to like 6th or 7th where he might see better pitches w/ men aboard in front of him.

I like Jimenez hitting in those RBI-type situations that Rich Aurillia has been coming up in.

So, any chance the Reds' "Big Three" of Wilson, Milton and Ortiz are going to get it turned around soon? I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking the Reds were making a major upgrade to the rotation with the off-season moves. Obviously, not much yet. I'd like to see Wilson's ERA for the first five innings and his ERA thereafter, too. He just hits a wall in the sixth.

Milton has obviously been a disaster (crossing my fingers about tonight), and Ortiz has been hurt, but it's still early.

One thing's for sure: they'd better get it together soon, because this homestand could make or break the Reds.

This is redicuous. 3-2, don't give him a meatball. Obviously u don't want to walk him to get to Pujols but I'd rather take my chances on Pujols than have a 1-0 ball game.

What happened to this sinkerball he supposedly is learning? I guess he's still not comfortable enough to throw it in that situation.

Do any of you guys watch archived games on MLB.TV? A lot of times I make sure I don't know the score of the game and try to watch them later on the computer. However, it's almost impossible to watch because the game stops by itself and goes back to the start every ten minutes or so. Then I have to go to the trouble of re-starting, getting back to the spot I was in and getting the full-screen back up. Worse, the small MLB.TV screen has a list of the "game highlights", so I have to make sure and cover that with my hand everytime it kicks off and switches to the small screen.

Has anyone had the same experience? Does anyone know how to fix this "glitch"? As it is, I end up just watching the condensed game because trying to get through the whole game is just too frustrating.

I play MVP Baseball for Xbox pretty religiously and just about every pitcher in the game has got velocity extremely comparable to what he throws in real life. In the game, Milton can get his heater up to around 94-95 MPH yet I've not seen him anywhere near that this year. What gives?

That sounds like a ripoff. I do the MLB audio only...its ok, a little slow but start from the beginning...i would be begging for my money back.

Well, I work too much and end up watching the games at work at night a lot of times. I'm too hooked on that (and the condensed games) to give it up. The system certainly isn't perfect, but they've got me hooked. Hell, sometimes I'll watch a Tigers/Royals condensed game. I'm that sick. ;)

I play MVP Baseball for Xbox pretty religiously and just about every pitcher in the game has got velocity extremely comparable to what he throws in real life. In the game, Milton can get his heater up to around 94-95 MPH yet I've not seen him anywhere near that this year. What gives?

I'm sure he could get the heater up to 92-93 range if he put everything he had behind it and didn't care where it went or what happened to his elbow when he threw it.

I think I know what your problem is:

MLB.tv only allows you to watch 5-10 minute segments of the archived games until six o'clock the following morning. Try watching a game from a previous day; I don't think you'll have that problem anymore.

I had MLB.tv all last season, and I have it this year along with Extra Innings. It's a great deal.

I doubt that will happen. Carpenter is a very good and still underrated pitcher. Carpenter was the Cardinal's Ace last year, and will likely compete with Mulder for that title in 2005. He's very good at keeping his composure and getting out of jams as well.

Seems like that is the first break this team has received all season long, as far as calls go

Casey is getting his stroke back. Griffey beginning to show power. Milton pitching well. Baseball does this better than any sport - gives you immense hope before breaking a bat over your heart...
