Why is Wagner even in this game when Weathers could have gone another inning and Weber still hanging around?

Didn't Andy Furman live up on a billboard a few years ago until the Bengals won their first game of the season? And they started out 0-8 or something? He's probably afraid to do the same for the Reds...he might be up there for awhile.

What's the over/under on how long the losing streak will last?

CrackerJack

DanO was on Lance's show on Thursday talking up how close the losses have been - by a run or two - and if half of those were reversed the Reds would have 5 or 6 more wins. Well what about 13-0 games? Or the 7-0 deficit the Reds faced on Wednesday? Or the 4-0 deficit the Reds took into the ninth on Tuesday? Or the 13-3 loss on Sunday?

The Reds aren't just losing, they are getting destroyed in almost all facets of the game.

DanO needs to be on Capitol Hill and not at the ballpark, he'd excel....or talk radio...oh wait he's already doing that.

The Reds have agrand total of one pitcher that actually misses bats. They probably don't like him, doesn't pitch to contact.

Maybe they'll trade him to the Braves for the next Bong/Nelson? ;)

Reitsma's change and Wagner's (several) pitchers are too good to be on this team.

Is it me or is it becoming evident that this version of the Reds has no heart?

From the top down, this organization is a disorganized jumble of parts that don't work together and pitchers who cannot consistently pitch.

There needs to be a complete overhaul of the scouting and talent evaluation staff, and then the management needs to start shipping out players in an effort to get high-minor league talent.

They simply can't keep trotting these clowns out to the mound every day and expect to be anything other than a last or next-to-last place team.

That Lopez character might not be so bad. He is hitting .308 with 3 BB, 3 HR and 11 RBI in 39 AB, as opposed to Aurilia's 85 AB with a .224 average, 4 BB, 3 HR and 12 RBI. It must be that extra RBI in more than double the AB that's doing it for Aurilia, along with his lower OBP/OPS. ;)

You may want to re-read the board rules again. Particularly this one: 5. Direct personal attacks, flames, fights, trolling, name-calling, general nuisance, excessive player criticism or anything along those lines.

I haven't done this since the season started:

Can we agree on the following:

A DOUBLE is better then a single?
A TRIPLE is better then a double?
A HOME RUN is better then a triple?

I think we can. If we CAN, then why on earth would you use a stat (BA) that makes them all equal AND ignores other ways of getting on base.

OPS isn't the greatest stat on the planet, but it's a great, simple way to compare players, and it's a heck of a lot more accurate then batting average.
