If you are in the lineup (Lopez) you are being showcased, and if you're not in the lineup (Kearns)you are being traded?

SS is one of our greatest organizational needs. Lopez is going no where. He is playing because Jimenez is playing poorly.

I assume that Pena still can't play. Kearns is sitting because he has also stunk.

I feel bad for Paul Wilson. The guy is a competitor, but he just lacks the physical skills it takes to get big league hitters out.

I remember suggesting before the season that this could be the year where Paul Wilson completely blows up and is out of the rotation by the All Star break. the writing was on the wall by watching him towards the end of last year. I think he's done as a major league pitcher.

05-06-2005, 07:27 PM
There has got to be something wrong with Wilson's arm. I know we're in the mood for some mind-numbing sarcasm, but the last guy I saw with that type of stuff was Jerry Reuss when he came here for his swan song. Paul is not a great pitcher, but that was sick. It was all Jeff Kent could do to hit a fair ball, he was so far out in front. He couldn't have been touching 80 on the gun.

PuffyPig
05-06-2005, 07:27 PM
Well, if it wasn't for all the bad luck, Wilson could be spinning a shut out.

What has to make this so hard for the players is the day off yesterday. I guarantee you they viewed yesterday as a chance to regroup, lick their wounds, and come back on Friday with a fresh start. To then come ou and allow 10 runs in the first has to be utterly devastating.

>> walk, single, double, groundout, popout, intentional walk, single (pitcher, R. Wolf), walk, walk, walk, DEMPSTER out/Sullivan IN, walk, walk, single, HR, strikeout (pitcher).
