Had he left Harang in there and the same thing happened would you be saying he should have pulled him?

Absolutely not. Harang deserved to finish what he started. When he walked the leadoff batter in the 8th it wasn't really a concern with the way he was cruising.

Lets see, Wagner throws 2 innings Sunday, with a inning the day before that, he gets 1 day off and with a 4 run lead, you bring him in? Stupid man, stupid. Why waste Wagner here?

I think he's been taking some of that Weathers juice or something. This is horrible. Should be an easy, easy game to win and we're going to have to attempt to squeak it out with freakin' Graves.

Wagner is so inconsistent lately. I like his potential as much as the next guy, but come on. It's 5-1 and you can't find the plate. Here we go....never a dull moment.

This is inexcusable. Dave Miley is just horrible. I don't blame Ryan Wagner with the innings he has been pitching recently. How in the world could a game that Aaron Harang was cruising through effortlessly in the 8th inning result in a situation where three relievers warm up and our shaky closer comes in with the bases loaded and no outs?

It's almost inconcievable that, in the span of LESS THAN A WEEK, this team has:

1. Blown a 9-3 ninth inning lead and lose 10-9, setting a record as the biggest ninth inning comeback for the Cardinals

2. Given up 10 first inning runs (including 7 before recording an out) to a struggling Dodgers offense, and lose 13-6

3. Blown a 5-1 lead in the ninth inning to the Padres, wasting a gem of a game by Aaron Harang.

But I guess things are going according to Dan O'Brien's plan

Wagner was throwing on gas. Miley should have never even taken the chance to put him in the fray at that point. It is stupid managerial decisions like along with Aruilia and the lineup organization that totally confound me about the man, he was in AAA for a long time for a reason.

Of course the whole "pitch to contact" mantra along with the sinker seems to have caused a fastball "drop" among the pitchers which is annoying more than harmfull. I would ignore everything they were "trying" to teach me.

All the other threads on this forum. I am personally not going to look through a 20 page thread, probably which 3/4th is play by play to find the actual discussion. Hmmm... how far below .200 will Aurilia have to drop b/f he loses his starting job?

He USED to be a solid hitter - ergo, in Miley's opnion he must keep playing him til he returns to form. Even if it takes all darn year.

Why would you choose Javier Valentin over Bobby Estalella? Estalella tore it up in Spring Training... they said "they knew what they were getting w/ valentin."" what *is* that exactly?

The only justifiable reason I can think of is "familiarity with the staff" (which, you'll notice, he had going tonight with Harang)...and probably that he can play 1st Base if you're really hard up for someone.

Here's the puzzler for me. Miley was a very very good minor league manager. Yet as a big league manager he insists on playing veterans however badly they are slumping and benching/jerking around and failing to have any confidence in the young players. You'd think the guy would just the opposite since in the minors he had to deal with young players all the time.
