eh...probably wouldn't matter...Miley would probably still put him in the lineup.

Is there something wrong with Kearns or is Miley just that damn stupid?

Golgafrinchan
05-09-2005, 06:32 PM
With Aurilia stinking up the joint, Kearns's recent power surge, -and- Kearns's complaining about not playing on Sunday, I felt pretty confident that Kearns would be playing tonight.

Either Kearns is in Miley's (or the front office's) doghouse, or something weird is going on.

05-09-2005, 06:36 PM
Could Kearns sitting be a precursor to a trade?? Might not want to get him hurt if he's already being seriously shopped around and has some suitors the Reds are interested in... or our managment needs taken out back and beaten... either way it doesn't make Aurilia any better :)

Fans: So, Coach, could you explan to us why Aurillia is starting instead of Kearns?

Miley: Uh.....what do you mean? Aurillia doesn't play right.

Fans: Well, Dave, if you bench Rich, move Lopez to short, and Freel to second than you can play Kearns in right.

Miley: Hm. Hadn't thought of that. Do you think it's too late to change the lineup for tonight?

Fans: We don't know, Dave, why don't you check the ump, or better yet call Selig, I'm sure he could tell.

Miley: Gee, thanks Fans, what would I do without ya?

Fans: We have no idea, Dave, no idea.

Hmm, I am pissed to say the least.

Is there something wrong with Kearns or is Miley just that damn stupid? can't be suprised? What changed over yesterday? RA gets another 0-fer, that is a daily occurrence.

I am clueless as to what is going.

My only conclusion is that Miley is afraid to play Kearns everyday. Why? Because he will have a serious problem if Kearns plays everyday and gets hot, what happens when Pena come back? Miley doesn't want to deal with the sitaution where it is obvious the 3 young guys are superior hitters to Jr and especially Casey.

Afterall them is team is not losing because he is playing the out machine in Aurilia.

I'm dumbfounded, does Miley have a clue? Why is Kearns not in the lineup? I'm sorry but Miley has got to go. Rich Aurilia is going to go 0-4, and leave 5 RISP, and Miley will pinch-hit Cruz ahead of Kearns, and then say afterwards he was holding Kearns back for that big home run. :bang: :bang: :bang: :help: :help: :help: :help:

Freel, best at 2ndbase in right, Kearns our best defensive outfielder on the bench, Lopez, our shortstop heir apparent at 2nd, Casey batting 3rd where some kind of base running ability is much to be desired, and Legs of Lombardi Aurilia at SS? Even if the Reds had great pitching it's be tough to win with this kind of managing. Heck, we might get a hit from the catcher tonight, though.

PickOff
05-09-2005, 07:07 PM
Maybe, just maybe Rich has been in the lineup recently because there is a scout from Japan watching him tonight and we are hoping for a trade? Please. Please be true.

Seriously, though, is any teams shortstop playing worse than Rich and have no job security? I hope so and I hope Dano is offering to pay at least half of Aurillia's salary.

All too true. The better the pitcher the more they'll go this route as long as Randa and Aurilia are "protecting" Dunn. That's why Dunn would bat third if I had my druthers and Jr. 4th, Casey 5th. If they walk AD then at least they'd have to get 2 real hitters out.

I would hardly classify Felipe Lopez as a "find." And certainly not on the same level as WMP and Ryan Wagner. Lopez's value is exaggerated by some Reds fans because of Rich Aurilia's ineptitude. He's almost getting the star treatment because of the intense hatred, by some, of Aurilia.

Reds strand 2. I don't understand why this team's runs always seem to come in bunches. Tonight it's 5 in the first couple of innings and then nothing. Or in other recent games is nothing until the 8th or 9th, and then they'll score a few. Why can't they seem to string together some consistent scoring throughout a game?

Maybe something like this:
