Gilp I don't just know, and live baseball, I played the game for 22 years.....little league/ high school/ and college. I've played with players in the show right now...... so I don't know that you've "forgotten" more than I know.
I respect that, but don't act like Mr. Know-It-All around me and we'll be fine. :) Discussions like this is what makes following this team somewhat fun during the crap.

You've played the game for 22 years and you say Ken Griffey Jr is terrible? Another sign that ballplayers don't really know jack about the game. And don't brag about who you know or where you played, you'd be surprised about some of us. We don't just flaunt it like you.

The cup of Coffey was a bit shakey, but did the job, now lets end it.

FWIW, Miley showed big balls using Coffey in that spot, even though they could have been kicked in easily.

Who else was he going to go to? I don't think Keisler, Stone or Beslisle is the one inning keep you in there kind of guy. From what I've heard Coffey is the harder thrower.

Can someone please explain to me why William Bergolla is batting third in our lineup right now? Unless Sean Casey had to leave the game because of injury that just doesn't make sense. why pinch hit bergolla for casey...beyond explanation.

Last year he threw 92-96 mph, this year he is hitting 90-92 on the gun most times. Todd says it is because he wore out his arm at fall ball and he needs time to regroup. I would have rather(and probably still will) gone with Belisle or Keisler at this point.

It's a few pages back....Casey hurt his shoulder in the late innings in a collision with Wagner and Jose Guillen at 1st base. Bergolla came in for him.

kind of night I'd absolutely love to be at the ballpark though.

It was a little chilly up there in section 533. Lots of people were really into the game early on however. A group of teenagers painted their chests red and I saw a couple of kids with painted faces and red wigs. Also, the fans were solidly behind David Weathers in the ninth. Everybody was on their feet when he ran in and again with two outs. Too bad it didn't work out.

Went to Gameday bar on Pete Rose Way (about a block east of the ballpark) before the game and it is very nice. All the TVs are HD and they have tons of very nice Reds and Bengals memorabilia.

Wilkerson catches Kearns drive with his back to the wall. Sometimes I think there is a higher power that just won't let this team win.

Is Keisler batting with 1 down and 2 on? I think he kinda *has* to.......man, what a bad break if they can't get it done here.

Marty is speculating that Belisle is hurt since Keisler is batting for himself instead of the good-hitting Eric Milton.

He has to they have no body on the bench. Im sure they could have Milton hit, but then they only have Belisle to pitch.

I'm just guessing here, but I'm thinking Washington probably has the infield pulled in, it wouldn't be that simple.

So Marty thinks they've got a 13 man pitching staff with 2 guys unable to pitch... This front office confuses me. Perhaps you too.

Reds win a series! FINALLY!

And all it takes is Randy Keisler, Danny Graves' replacement, to get his first Major League hit in the 14th inning! I'll take it

If I could give out rep points, I would definately give them to CTA.

Thanks for keeping us posted man

If rep points really meant something, CTA would be a millionaire already.

I went to last nights marathon. Me and a friend of mine decided to go down and get seats out in the outfield instead of closer to the plate. I was very happy we did. We sat in section 103 in left field and the view from that area of the ballpark is very, very nice. We had alot of fun.

Now, onto the game. Brandon Claussen looked very good last night. I would have liked to have seen him been alittle more pitch efficient throwing I believe 120+ pitches in 6 innings.

I was very impressed with the managing move of Frank Robinson in the 8th (or 9th, I can't remember) inning after the Nationals got the leadoff runner on. Livan Hernandez was done on the mound for the night after throwing a goodly number of pitches himself. Instead of wasting a position player, Robinson sent Livan up to bunt the runner to second. I thought that was a very nice managerial move by Frank.

The bullpen did an outstanding job last night as well. After Claussen's solid performance, the pen came on and pitched 8 innings of 1 run baseball and got out of a couple minor jams. Todd Coffey jumps out to me. He pitched 2 very nice innings. His fastball had some good zip and his offspeed stuff was doing the job too. Relievers threw 2 double play balls when they badly needed them. The bullpen did a great job last night.

I thought Marty and Joe singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" in the special "14th inning stretch" was really neat.

I was relieved when the game was over not only for the fact that the Reds picked up the win, but for the fact that it was over period. We didn't get back on 75 until pushing midnight and I've got about a 2 hour drive home from the ballpark. Not getting home until 2:00 AM and having to get up and go to work the next morning is not a fun thing, but it was tollerable since the Reds came out on top.

The lady friend and I are heading back down tomorrow night so I've just got today to recover from last night. Luckily it's a 12:35 game today so after the American Idol finalle I can go to bed and make up for last night.

tell that to the bossman, mr. "boss hog" himself, he seems to think everyone here LOVES the new system.

tell that to the bossman, mr. "boss hog" himself, he seems to think everyone here LOVES the new system.

The system makes good sense and I believe that a large majority of the long time posters encourage the new sysytem. If you make good posts consistently then you should have no trouble making the big board. Continuously complaining about will get you nothing except for the odd neg.
