Since the Hall of Fame forum is dead... let me post it here. I came back from my two-month European odyssey on May 30th. Believe me, there were times when I was afraid to check the boxscores.

On the plus side, the blog's booming.

Welcome back, Doc. I was thinking of you the other day when I couldn't rely on you to provide summaries of the minors and the drafts.

Did you make it to the Milky Way?

And are you still doing the Lewis and Clark?

Yeah, MH, I didn't want to tell CrazyEights that I was out of the country for two months. Nothing changed- I still lose in the first round of the playoffs every season. :)

Seriously, you know it's a depressing season for the home team when you go back and catch up on all the news you missed... and find out you don't really have anything to say. Other than "What?" and "Why?" about D'Angelo going to Chattanooga (!).

And are you still doing the Lewis and Clark?

And, yes, I'm still doing the Lewis and Clark. I should be on the West Coast by the first of August.

Welcome back, Doc. I was thinking of you the other day when I couldn't rely on you to provide summaries of the minors and the drafts.

I'm doing the minors summaries again, check the blog. And my 2005 draft rundown will be later this week... as soon as I read RedsZone to catch up on what happened. :)

As you can imagine, baseball isn't a very big deal in Europe. But soccer actually has full-fledged box scores (!), so the sports pages still look oddly familiar. I did actually see one person wearing a Reds hat in Paris, but I think it was just part of an urban ensemble, if you know what I mean. And you can only talk baseball with Canadians from Ontario- the ones from British Columbia just ask you if you're into hockey. :)

New York Yankees gear, all looking sort of strange and stylized, is sold at finer sidewalk carts all over Europe as (what I assume is) some sort of larger symbol of America.
