In other lineup news...

Mets Manager Willie Randolph continues to run Jose Reyes and his .283 OBP (that's not a typo) out there in the leadoff slot.

Where's the Mets best OBP (David Wright) slotted tonight? 2nd.

It's like picking names out of a hat for some folks.

Superb catch by Kenny Kelly. Robs Pujols of at least a double.

Was that a homerun Kelly just plucked away? or was it an off the wall shot? I couldnt tell from the replay.

Edmonds would have kept his hat on after a play like that.

Just sayin'...

I like Kelly's speed and D and he has some pop in his bat. Beats Romano as a reserve CF and a bat off the bench, IMO.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see this be 18-4 by the end of the inning.

That was an off-the-wall grab. He wasn't over the yellow line.

Kelly can hit, has good fielding and is really really really fast.

Romano is probably the better hitter, at least he shows that in the minors.

He's the kind of guy who you probably could pick up for a song.

Another kid that I didn't think much of when the M's acquired him is SS Mike Morse. Looked like not much of anything and then something seemed to "click" for him last season. And so far at the MLB level, it's continued to click. He's a BA-driven guy for sure. But the M's look to send him back down when Pokey comes off the DL most likely and he's a guy I'd put in the mix at 2B should the M's be inclined to deal him for a song.

BA implies that Morse has a problem with OTC banned substances, might be a problem in todays environment, IMO. I'd be wary of him because of this. Of course, I know better than to argue with you, ;) but it would have to be for a song if the Reds acquired him.

I'm a Bergolla for 2B kinda' guy. I just love this guys defense from what I've seen this season. I don't like the fact that he got called up though. He needs everyday AB's and if he's not getting them in Cincy, he needs to be at Louisville.

Somebody needs to get a screen shot of Diaz's broken bat sticking in the infield for tomorrows caption pic thread.

The caption should read, "Stick a broken bat in them, they are done".

You know, Chris Welsh gets paid good money for what he does, and it makes me upset that I can be paying about half attention and still know that Einar Diaz has been catching for the last 3-4 innings, and don't get paid one thin dime. He keeps on bragging about Yadiar Molina's technique behind the plate and he hasn't been in there since the 6th.

Not so worried about OTC stuff. And I've never been a big Bergolla fan. I've just never been fond of a no-power/no-discipline speed types. Bergolla, because he has some skills, is a highly regarded guy but I see that being more a commentary on the dearth of talent in the upper levels of the Reds system than anything else.

Thats the one good thing about Grande's incessant babbling;it doesn't give Welsh time to analyze much.

Yeah, then when they did figure it out, GG says that it looked like Diaz was going to be the starting catcher for Cleveland until "Sandy" Martinez came up last year.

Those two guys are pretty dim.
