The REDS bullpen has...

* 2 saves this month in 20 games.
* 5 saves in the combined months of May & June. 49 games.

They had 8 saves in April. 23 games... all Danny Graves. He was 8-8 in save opportunities. Joe Valentine had the only blown save in April

SAVE ON! :)

Griffey with two shots. Randa goes back-to-back with Junior on one of 'em. FeLo with a big 2-out double to go-ahead in the 9th. Weathers gets save #3. The REDS have back-to-back "save games" for the 1st time since Apr. 17-18 (61 games ago!).

Nice game! :)

Ill say this... Milton has improved over his last 2 games.
Hes not were he should be, but he didnt give up more than 4 runs in each game which is an improvement... seeing has he was giving up 7 or more runs.

Now I just wish the Milton that was out in the 5th & 6th inning today will show up for the whole game next time he pitches.

Yes, he's dropped his ERA almost a full run, but thanks to the work of Cyclone792, we see that Weathers hasn't dropped his dERA nearly as much. Thats cause for concern going forward.

Yes. Actually it happened last Sunday when Griffey hit a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 8th to break a game the Braves tied in the top of the inning. Stormy Weathers blew the save but ended up with the win after Griff's HR.

Well there is not an official definition for this, but it could be one of the following:

* June 7 vs. Tampa Bay.
> Ortiz starts and gets bombed. 1.2IP, 7H, 6ER, 2BB.
> REDS come back and win, 9-7. Many will remember this... Keisler pitches a gem in relief of Ortiz and jacks a HR (2 for 3 on the night at the plate).
> Romano DFA'd that day.

- Or way back when...

* April 18 vs. Cubs.
> Belisle starts and gets bombed. 3IP, 7H, 5ER, 1BB.
> REDS come back and win, 7-6. LaRue hits a 2-out, 2-run-double to go ahead in the bottom of the 8th.
> Todd Coffey's called up that day.

Reds down 9-5 after 7 innings. Dunn hits a 2 run HR in the bottom of the 8th, and a solo HR by Cruz makes it 9-8 going into the ninth. Weathers gets the win after pitching a scoreless top of the 9th. Griff singles in Freel and Pena hits a two run bomb in the bottom of the inning. :)

Good one! Of course it was non-televised here. That was the game in which RZ thought Lou Pinella might kill something... kill anything! That Griffey single was CLUTCH. The REDS also hit 6 HRs in that game (poor Lou) off TB pitching.

Eric Milton has given up 2 or more HRs in 8 of his 16 starts this season...

4 HRs, 1X
3 HRs, 3X
2 HRs, 4X
1 HR, 6X
0 HR, 2X

I am building a projection into my graph. So far, I am calculating it based on his avg starts a year before this year which was around 28.

He is on pace for 48 per my calculations

Here is how I arrived at it:

TOTALHR * CareerAVGStarts / StartsThisYear

So...

(27 * 28.57) / 16 = 48 (approx)

Not quite on pace to beat the record yet. Now if he does exceed his career avg starts of 28.57 (say, oh, I dunno, 32) then he will have 54. Ouch.

"Thanks for the mem...or...ies"

There really haven't been many. This one stuck out in my mind because it was a close game all the way through, and the Reds came up with just enough at the very end to pull it out.

These are the wins that IMHO a winner wins and the Reds have repeatedly lost this year.
