Achy Breaky Heart has to be #1 on the annoyance scale.

Not a big fan of Nelson's work, either.

Close, but the actual #1 on the annoyance scale is Who Let the Dogs Out

Sisqo's masterpiece, The Thong Song, also ranks pretty high.

Any rap song would be on my list. I guess I'm just too old to get that type of music.

Anything by Nirvana. I always said they would have no legacy.

I'll go with every song by the Spice Girls

How about any of the Aerosmith 90's "hits"? Pink, Love in an Elevator, just awful. Or maybe Rico Suave by Gerardo, who would have thought he would be a 1-hit wonder?

I didn't go for that multi-cultural rap movement like Mentirosa by Mellow Man Ace

"I'm too sexy" by Right Said Fred

Thanks much. Please turn off the lights on your way out...

"I'm Too Sexy" is one of the rare songs that aims to be funny and succeeds. Great tune. A zillion times better than the overproduced, overwrought teen pop that proliferated in the latter portion of the decade.

Whoa! Red Leader pulling one out of the vaults!

"Today you tell me one thing, y manana otra cosa"

As for worst song of the 90's, I'll vote for "Hit Me Baby One More Time," because it gave birth to the new wave of pre-teen tart-pop.

No legacy? They started a new movement in music and almost single handedly killed hair metal. Im not a gigantic fan but to say that Nirvana has not legacy is a joke.

"Save a Horse, Ride A Cowboy" is an 00's song. 2004 to be exact.

I know it is and when someone starts the worst song of 2000's thread i will post it on there because I think that the worst song I have ever heard. I cant believe country radio would play that song.

Hit Me Baby One More Time

The video redeemed that song. Britney might be frightening now, but wow did she look good in that video.

I'd like to nominate anything by the Backstreet Boys. And the Macarena.

The Macarana is what it is a good catchy dance song. It was just so overplayed everyone started to hate it. I see people hate on Hootie and the Blowfish in this thread also, the cd Cracked Rearview was really good it was just way overplayed. It is not groundbreaking but its fun and catchy.

Great choice. Navel gazing at its worst. A substandard, throwaway folk tune (and I'm with Dave Lowry on how much the world needs another folk singer).

redsfanmia, I'm with you on "Macarena". It's harmless dance floor fun. Hootie never did it for me personally, but they never pretended to be more than a bar band and it's not their fault that vapid nouveau yuppies flocked to them.

I kind of like "Nookie" though. No, it's nothing wonderful, but metal's 85% attitude (10% noise, 5% stage show) and "Nookie" pretty well captured the right attitude for a young snot rap/metal outfit.

"Get a Job" by the Offspring.

This is such a blatant rip off of the Beatles' "O Bla Di, O Bla Da," that I'm surprised they weren't sued for millions. The song is terrible, and I hate the band.

Don't Take the Girl

One time I was tripping on acid and I tuned the TV to a public access channel and they were showing a video of a child singing this at a karaoke place.

For some reason, every time I hear itnow, I become very agitated and hostile.

"Get a Job" by the Offspring.

Worst voice ever. Even worse than the "singer" from Cake. I'd rather listen to J. Mascis strain his way through "Flying Cloud" than listen to the guy from the Offspring try to sing anything.

Great list, though the "2 Legit" hand signal sequence has now passed from exceptionally cheesy to gut-bustingly funny.
