JERUSALEM -- Sharon Tendler met Cindy 15 years ago. She said it was love at first sight. This week she finally took the plunge and proposed. The lucky "guy" plunged right back.

In a modest ceremony at Dolphin Reef in the southern Israeli port of Eilat, Tendler, a 41-year-old British citizen, apparently became the world's first person to "marry" a dolphin.

Dressed in a white dress, a veil and pink flowers in her hair, Tendler got down on one knee on the dock and gave Cindy a kiss. And a piece of herring.

"He's the love of my life," she said yesterday.

Tendler, who said she imports clothes and promotes rock bands in England, has visited Israel several times a year since first meeting the dolphin.

While she acknowledged the "wedding" had no legal bearing, she said it reflected her feelings for the bottlenosed, 35-year-old object of her affection.

"It's not a bad thing. It's just something that we did because I love him, but not in the way that you love a man. It's just a pure love that I have for this animal," she said.

While she keeps open the option of "marrying human," she said she is a "one-dolphin woman."

Sure everything's fine now for the happy couple, off on their honeymoon in the south seas, but the first time the Earth gets scheduled for demolition to make way for an intergalactic bypass or some such thing, it'll be, "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"

Meanwhile, the legislatures in Columbus work feversihly to pass the "Marriage Preservation and Marine Life Protection Act" prohibiting it's citizens from marrying sea creatures.

This woman must be a real nut. Marrying a dolphin? I think she needs some new medication. I love my dog, but I do not think about marrying the dog.

Tell ya what.... if I met this lady, I'd Flip-per off. :p:

No offense to any dolphin lovers on Redszone, but this lady needs to be shot.

Maybe its that dolphin laugh that drew her?

Or maybe it's this type of dolphin?
