View Full Version : Who will play the most at 2b?

Who do you think will play the most games at 2b this year? Not who you think should play the most there, but who the Reds will actually use the most.

This thread needs a poll.

Or a stick of dynamite.

this is hard. if Womack hit's better than 260 all year, it'll be him. but since i think he has little shot of doing that i have to go with Aurilia, since i think Freel is for all intents and purposes, the 4th OFer now.

Womack. RA will be stealing time from EE at 3rd.

Patience, you read it too quick, before the poll was in

BTW, I picked Womack. He's DanO's shiny new toy, and I think he'll want to showcase him to the fans. I think he'll be handed the job initially.

I agree that Freel is the 4th OF and I think Aurillia will be the utility man.

However, there's a good chance Womack will stink bad enough that even the Reds will eventually bench him.

Aurilia - 3rd base

Aurillia. Because management=morons.

I think it will be a platoon of RA and Womack that is pretty evenly split with spot starts at 3rd for RA to give EE a rest. Thats why I voted other, but initially out of Spring Training it will be RA getting a majority of starts.

Aurilia - 3rd base

I agree. What happens though if Womack stinks up the joint at 2B? Will they move RA back to 2B and give EE a chance or do they just plug Freel in at 2B and leave RA at 3B?

I don't know, but I can guarantee you this - whichever of Aurilia and Womack is not the starter out of spring training, that person will be complaining in the papers about it.

I was no big fan of Casey's but replacing him with two guys who think they are better than what they are now and are both not above going to the papers to complain about things is not a way to create harmony in the clubhouse.

I voted for Womack, though it made me feel dirty.

On the upside, whenever he flubs a play we can say, "Well, there's another Womacky play on the infield for the Reds."

Freel. Aurilia surprisingly plays more at first after Dunn moves back to the outfield as a result of O'Brien trading Kearns and Pena for David Wells (a veteran leader with playoff experience who knows how to win).

And I absolutely refuse to vote for Womack. I still have some standards.

Womack, Aurilia will play mostly at 3rd.

I said Aurilia.

Then I washed my mouth out with suds.

I really think that Richie will be the everyday 2nd baseman. I think that Womack will play some 2nd and play left on occasion. I have a feeling that Womack is going to stink it up bad in the spring and there is a chance that he could be cut or given a starting spot. I haven't decided which.

I think DanO will be fired before the season, thus I am leaning towards him being cut if he stinks this spring.

I hate to admit it, but Aurilia at 2nd, if they must not start Freel, is not that bad of an option considering the circumstances. I don't think that Bergolla is ready and Olmedo is likely to be lost, so that leaves the Reds with Aurilia and Womack. Pick your poison.:help:

I figure that the Reds will just let Aurilia and Womack play the entire infield between them. Aurilia can play shortstop-thirdbase and Womack can take care of second and first. After all, they know how to win.

Aurillia. Because management=morons.

Womack could also EASILY be inserted there for Aurillia too.
