Working in the Devil Rays organization.

#16 in your program and number one in your hearts.

I think in 1983 or 1984 he led the team in call-ups from Triple A. This, of course, a team that called up Dallas Williams as well.

Yep... Skeeter's daughter had a baby with Pokey's help. Evidently Pokey did not do much for the baby other than make it. I still remember a feature story in Sports Illustrated about Pokey ("The Man Who Would Not Be Traded For Griffey"... thx, Jimbo). IIRC Skeeter does not like Pokey very much... as would be expected of a father whose daughter was "left hanging" by Pokey.

The Rays named Skeeter Barnes manager of the Single-A Southwest Michigan Devil Rays, replacing Dave Howard, who resigned last month shortly after being named to the position.
