Nashville man auctioning cereal box with 9/11 tie
Jan 27, 2006, 10:47 PM EST

A Nashville man is selling a box of Kellogg's MiniWheats on eBay that could be historically significant. It has a date of 9/11/01 and also features American Airlines promotional graphics.

American Airlines planes were the first to hit the World Trade Center and The Pentagon that fateful day.

The box’s owner, Tommy Joyce, has promised a portion of the proceeds will go to the 9/11 Childrens Fund.

That is in the same poor taste as, well, a four year-old box of miniwheats

Who would buy it? Why would anybody want it? What possible value and/or significance does an item like that really hold?

Gimme a break.

No one will bid six-figure price on something sold by a seller with a zero feedback rating.

I have a promo copy of Ryan Adams' Gold album (containing the eventual hit "New York, New York", incidentally) that mentions a 9-11-01 release date on the back. There's a sticker placed over top that says 9-25-01.

By these standards, then, I should get at least $250K for this...
