I see that Jim Beattie's role as "special adviser" is already over. That was a short contract. What could he possibly have advised on other than the GM job for which he was a major candidate? I wonder why he was "hired" rather than just interviewed like everyone else? This area seems to be a bit fuzzy

I wonder if Beattie came in thinking because of his ties with Castellini he'd be a sure in for the GM job...obviously that was proven otherwise.

I don't know, just speculation....
