Roster fodder for ST, the Reds have exactly 1 day off between 3-1 and 4-1

I guess with the DFA of Bong, the Rietsma trade has now passed the boards.

Both Bong and Nelson are either gone or nobody else wants them.

Nelson cleared waivers and was assigned to Louisville, so he's still in the organization. The same will likely happen with Bong.

Quentin isn't so terrible.... He has above average speed and is a decent field I think... Last times he had 300 at bats or more he hit around .300. He has a .276 career average and an OBP just below .340. He's a decent 5th outfielder if he makes the roster.

Yep. Need bodies that can actually play a little. Give him some exposure in case somebody actually needs him.

The other thread stated they also signed Tuffy Rhodes. iirc, Rhodes was a big hit in Japan when I was over there. He must be gettin gup there too in age.

If Quentins related to Big Erne I'm ok with the deal for entertainment purposes alone.

Oh nooooo he'll make the roster....... I can see it now.

Why why why? What is a guy like QM going to add to this team? In other news I hear talks have picked up with Donnie Sadler. Hooray!

this move actually makes sense to me. can play all the OF positions at least adaquetly, and hit like Jacob Cruz. i doubt he'll start the year on the roster, and i think he's probably ahead of Timo Perez in terms of the depth chart.

Alright, one of the greatest movies ever made, Can't Buy Me Love, contains this line, one of the greatest in movie history: "Quentin is IN; let the fun beGIN!"

What does he think he's doing, Kenneth?

- He must be helping them with their homework. - Yeah.

First morning in school, homework? Sure, Ken.

Who can't love a movie that has Seth Green as a kid and Mickey Dolenz's daughter in it?

Am I the only baby boomer who hears the name "Quentin" and immediately thinks "Dark Shadows"?

Am I the only baby boomer who hears the name "Quentin" and immediately thinks "Dark Shadows"? I can see it, but my boomer status is the tail end... I think that boomers who don't remember the 60's for anything more than Hot Wheels and Major Matt Mason get the short stick in the lable game, I like to think of myself as an in betweener... the guy who can say they saw Ozzy and Sabbath live as well as GnR and Modest Mouse.

Yeah, pretty firmly an X'er. I did own a Dark Shadows board game. And remember Apple's Way.
