View Full Version : The Annual RedsZone Tip Jar

GIK

It's February, pitchers and catchers are set to report, and it is again time for your faithful admins to rattle the tip jar for support in 2006.

If you haven't noticed, we placed a Donate (http://www.redszone.com/donate.html) link in the upper left-hand corner of the forum header roughly two weeks ago (thank you to one member who sniffed this out!).

PayPal, like previous years, is our current and only way to make a donation to the site.

Many improvements were made to the site in 2005, we think. Thanks in advance to all who decide to toss a few bucks into the jar.

Boss: Have you ever come up with a way for non-Paypal folks to contribute? If so, count me in as well.

I'll kick in too if I can do it without using paypal, an alternative?

See the same thread over on Reds Live - Redread is taking checks and will pass the money to GIK.

I sent my donation in. You shouldn't incur any fees since I paid via my paypal funds. As long as people don't use credit/debit card and use paypal funds or bank transfers paypal fees shouldn't apply.

Done deal. Thanks guys for the great job you do.

Maybe you should have titled it the "Buy Aurilia A One Way Ticket Fund". You would have gotten more responses/donations. ;)

here's my tip for the jar:

Don't take any wooden nickles. ;)

Wish it were so, RBA. That's the case only if the account is not a merchant account. If it is a merchant account, Paypal charges their fee, regardless.
I sell some stuff on eBay sometimes (yep...i'm oneupper there too) and this policy sucks.

Maybe the admins should have two accounts, one merchant and one not. Those of us who have Paypal funds can pay them through the second one so they don't have to pay the fees.

We definitely are charged fees regardless. Thanks for the suggestion, oneu, but I'd rather not have two accounts open.

Cheers to all who have donated thus far!

Done deal!

I love this website -- seriously the best moderated and best content sports message board I've ever been a part of.

As a poor and humble law student, I can't chip in a ton, but I'm happy to throw in a few bucks to this cause.

If Redread gets this message I'd like to know if you got the check. This is always a good place to go when the world seems to be spinning out of control. Get caught up on the latest baseball news and theories, plus keeping in touch with the crowd. It's fun to follow so many people and their thoughts for so long.

Just put in my 2...OK, I put in a little more than that (much closer to 5 really).

This is a great site with a great community, I'm happy to help out. Lord knows it's saved me from doing plenty of "real" work. ;)

Thanks for the bump, TB. I want to thank all who donated for 2006 thus far. These gifts to RZ help us keep the site advertising free (since Day 1).

Cheers! :beerme:

While we did not reach the same totals as last year, we did pay extra then so our bills would be lower for 2006. We also have not received those payments sent to Redread, which I'm sure will arrive within the next few weeks.

Thanks again to our supporters.

Sweet sassy molassy!!!!!

GIK, I've been telling you for years that Redread is really John Allen. It's all part of his evil master plan!!!!

He's lining his pockets, I tell ya!!!!!

Heath, we probably pay the amount appropriate for the performance of most of the Reds pitchers!

Since some old friends are starting to comeback to RedsZone to post again, I thought I'll bump up the tip jar post in case they missed it the first time around. Just a friendly reminder. ;)

got it man.. hadn't been checking the thread. Got several other checks and also forwarded them to GIK via my paypal.

EDIT: Actually, I forwarded them some time ago, just to clarify. I'm not going to pull a John Allen on you. :)
