Who will be attempting to get OD tickets, and how are you going to go about doing it.

Let me start by saying I will try and get them by internet and phone.

Once again, I will not be able to get tickets.

One of these days I will attend my first ever Reds OD!

The last one. Opening Day is her birthday.

I know last weekend and in years past tickets.com will give you a lot better chance to get in to buy tickets than the Reds website. The link off the Reds website tends to get overloaded but tickets.com works better.

I'd take my girlfriend too...but my wife is SO rude to her.... ;)

BTW - I enjoy opening day from my desk at work.

Online is by far the best option. If I were able to go, I'd be trying to log in and call at the same time. I wouldn't even think of messing with either in-person option.

Probably will try phone and internet Saturday morning.

As for the gf...I just like to say I have mine trained well. If I did get tickets and asked her to go, she would probably go nuts. In fact she would probably be the one telling me to skip class more than me telling her.

I just had to post this one up:

I guess that's a pretty good idea although I would never pay someone to do that for me. I would like my chances better on internet and phone than paying some random Ebay guy to go spend the night at the stadium.

I also like how the reserve has not been met...wonder how much it is?

I always buy my opening day tickets off e-bay. A few more bucks but you can get some great seats if you're willing to pay for them. Cheaper than a scalper and a "sure thing."

Oh, I'm going to try. I'm just not expecting to get them.

Even if I do, because I travel for a living, I'm not sure if I would even be able to go.

Internet. (2 laptops and a desktop.)

I've tried that the last few years along with two cell phones and the home line with no luck. This year I am just going ahead and planning to watch all the festivities from a bar stool at Willie's. :beerme:

I will stand in line at Meijers for the lottery. If I am 1st or 2nd ... I will stay. If not, I'll race home and use my laptop/cellphone while my wife uses the dekstop/cellphone.

I also hedge my bets by going in with my brother. If he gets tickets, I get one. If I get tickets, he gets one. If we both get tickets we share them with friends/neighbors that will reciprocate if they get tickets next year. I have been to 9 opening days running this way. Hopefully I can make it 10.

I was going to camp out but the lines at GABP and the Westin got so long so fast that it's not even worth it.

I'll be online and on 2 phones. My friend will be online and on phone. His sister is also going to be online. Hopefully it'll work out in the end...If not maybe we can score a deal on eBay.

I suffered through the lottery at Meijer's last year as well. Pulled ticket good enough for 14th in line and # 12 dude (who arrived at the store ten minutes before tickets were handed out) was able to land the final SRO tickets printed in the store that morning.

At least I got free OJ and some stale crullers for waiting in line for 2 hours.

I have just been notified by my friend (who has moved into top friend spot) that the Cubs-Reds series in Chicago the week after opening day is a "value series" (ie. tickets are cheaper). There are only 6 value games in the whole season and this series comprises three of them.

I am delighted beyond all embarrassment at this news, since I was planning on going anyway. It is something the rest of you might want to consider if you miss out on Opening Day tickets (plus we always need a good Reds contingent in Chicago)...the games are T-TH, April 11-13, all at 1:20 pm Central. Tickets go on sale a week from today.

How does one get into a friend "top spot"? Is there an application process or a free gift? :)
