You call that a lineup? I've seen better lineups at a police station.

03-12-2006, 01:08 PM

03-12-2006, 01:08 PM
That DeWayne Wise guy, getting very very fond of him, that's 3 homeruns on the spring now for him.

He plays good D too? Seems like their should be a spot on the bench for a guy like that.

03-12-2006, 01:09 PM
Who's this Wise character?

3 homeruns. .500 average.

Oh..if only he wasn't an outfielder.

Bench? More like he should play over Kearns, the way Austin looks now.

03-12-2006, 01:11 PM
Another hit for EE, I hasten to note that it was a single to right-center.

03-12-2006, 01:16 PM
Shocker...a Dan O'Brien aquisition (Germano) stinking up the joint.

03-12-2006, 01:16 PM
1-0 Reds heading into bottom of 1st after Hatteberg hit into DP.

First two Phils have reached in their half, men on second and third and no outs.

03-12-2006, 01:17 PM
Now another hit, this one from Burrell, men on first and third, 1-1 game, no outs.

The Phils announcers "love their hitters approach", which, I guess they would, since the Phillies are tattooing the ball all over the park apparently.

03-12-2006, 01:18 PM
Reds need to watch out for Howard he's hitting about just as well as EdE is this spring.

03-12-2006, 01:19 PM
Howard gets a hit driving in a second Phil run, still two on, still no one out.

Now Germano with a 2-2 count hits the fifth Phil hitter in the order. Bases loaded, two runs in, no outs.

03-12-2006, 01:20 PM
Who's this Wise character?

3 homeruns. .500 average.

Oh..if only he wasn't an outfielder.

Bench? More like he should play over Kearns, the way Austin looks now.

Put Wise in LF. Leave the man that can catch in RF.

Oh yeah, EE's the MAN!! He's making them all look bad right about now.

03-12-2006, 01:21 PM
Wise continues to prove he deserves a roster spot!!

03-12-2006, 01:22 PM
So Wise is my new favorite player.

He just gunned a guy out.

03-12-2006, 01:22 PM
Fly ball out, and runner thrown out trying to score at home.

Double play, two outs, still 2-1 Phillies. It was Dewayne Wise making the throw. Phils announcers are very impressed with the throw and the play at home by Sardhina.

03-12-2006, 01:23 PM
Pop out, Germano damn lucky it was only two runs given up.

2-1 Phils after one.

03-12-2006, 01:25 PM
Thanks for the play by play, bembengal!! :beerme:

03-12-2006, 01:37 PM
I will do what I can, but it won't be as complete as yesterday's was.

Reds go out quietly in their half of the second, and Germano gets Phils quickly in the bottom half.

2-1 after two innings.

03-12-2006, 01:41 PM
Denorfia strikes out to start the 3rd, Sardhina up now.

Madsen has 4 Ks so far for Philadelphia.

Sardhina flies out to deep CF. Wise up now with two outs.

03-12-2006, 01:45 PM
Wise grounds out on a nice play by a Phillie. 2-1 Phils still heading to the bottom of the 3rd.

03-12-2006, 01:47 PM
Two up, two down for Phillies to start the bottow of the third. Howard up. Germano has at least settled down nicely from that start.

03-12-2006, 01:50 PM
Howard lines out to a diving Hatteberg.

2-1 Phils heading to the 4th.

03-12-2006, 01:51 PM
Lopez, EE, Hatteberg due up for Reds in the 4th.

Lopez works the count full, then grounds out.

EE then doubles down the left field line. It has been a LONG time since I have listened to a series of games where a guy is as hot as EE is right now. Good lord.

03-12-2006, 01:57 PM
I believe Hatteberg worked the walk, Aurilia up with still just one down and two on.

On a 3-1 pitch, Aurilia pops up behind the plate, two out, still runners on first and second.

Phils are changing pitchers.

Tuffy Rhodes grounds out. Runners stranded.

Still 2-1 Phillies heading to bottom of the fourth.

03-12-2006, 02:04 PM
Another hit for EE, I hasten to note that it was a single to right-center.
Not opposite field so no praise ;)

03-12-2006, 02:05 PM
Pop out to start the Phillie fourth, props to Germano, he's still on.

03-12-2006, 02:06 PM
I propped Germano too fast, homerun for Gonzalez.

3-1 Phillies.

03-12-2006, 02:07 PM
Flyout to short right, nice play for Wise. Two outs.

03-12-2006, 02:08 PM
Now ground out to second.

Phils out to end the 4th, 3-1 Phillies.

03-12-2006, 02:15 PM
Reds go out quietly in the 5th, three up, three down.

03-12-2006, 02:18 PM
A dude named Jake Robbins on to pitch for Reds in the 5th. He's a 29-year-old last with the Cleveland organization, apparently, pitching at AAA Buffalso last year.

First batter up and out for Philly, then Rollins retired. Two outs.

Third out recorded, Mr. Robbins takes care of his bidness with some urgency.

3-1 after 5, Phillies.

03-12-2006, 02:24 PM
Wise reaches on an error to start the 6th, FeLo up with no outs.

Lopez strikes out on a ball in the dirt, Wise moves up to second on the wild pitch.

One out, Wise at 2b, EE up.

03-12-2006, 02:27 PM
Another wild pitch, Wise now on third. 1-1 count on EE with one out.

03-12-2006, 02:29 PM
EE works count to 3-2, then Ks on what Phils announcers describe as a high fastball. Two outs, runner still on third.

03-12-2006, 02:30 PM
hatteberg grounds out to 1b. Heading to bottom of 6th, 3-1 Phillies.

03-12-2006, 02:32 PM
Ryan Wagner on to pitch the bottom of the 6th. Pat Burrell/Ryan Howard part of the Phillie order due up.

03-12-2006, 02:34 PM
if wise keeps playing like he is he should get a spot on the club but it's getting kinda crowded for the backup outfield spot with denorfia wise and mcCracken

03-12-2006, 02:35 PM
Burrell and Howard each ground out, two out, none on.

03-12-2006, 02:39 PM
Roward Ks, nice inning for Wagner.

3-1 Phillies heading to top of the 7th, Aurilia due up first.

03-12-2006, 02:44 PM
Aurila Ks, Rhodes grounds out, two outs.

This has not exactly been an offensive explosion for Cincy today. McCracken up and grounds out.

3-1 Phillies in the middle of the 7th.

03-12-2006, 02:50 PM
Infield hit but maybe should have been scored an error on Paul Janish at SS starts the Phillie 7th. Then, a tailor made DP ball to SS takes a bad hop over Janish's head, two on, no outs, men on first and second.

Burns is pitching.

03-12-2006, 02:51 PM
Phils try to bunt, but Burns gets off mound quickly and gets force on lead runner at 3b.

One out, still two on.

Fly out to CF gets the second out.

Two outs, still two on.

Burns then walks next guy on four pitches to load the bases.

Strike out ends the threat.

3-1 Phillies after 7.

03-12-2006, 03:01 PM
Ground rule double for Denorfia to start the 8th.

Sardhina flies out to CF, Denorfia tags and moves to third.

One out, Wise up.

03-12-2006, 03:05 PM
Wise draws the walk, Aaron Holbert up with runners on first and third and one out.

Wise steals second, but one pitch later Holbert strikes out.

Two outs, runners on second and third.

Joey Votto up to pinch hit.

Votto Ks on a 2-2 pitch.

Still 3-1 Phillies heading to bottom of the 8th.

03-12-2006, 03:13 PM
Todd Coffey in to pitch the bottom of the 8th.

First out recorded quickly on a dribbler to first.

Phils announcers are puzzled that Coffey is a closer candidate, noting that his 84 hits in 58 innings last year is not that impressive. Howard grounds out. Two outs, no one on.

Bad hop single gets runner on. Two outs, one on.

Wild pitch gets runner to second, then base hit gets runner home. Throw home cut off, guy who got hit tagged out in rundown.

4-1 Phils heading to the top of the 9th.

03-12-2006, 03:15 PM
Rally cap.

03-12-2006, 03:22 PM
Aaron Fultz in to pitch 9th for Philadelphia.

Abad leading off for Cincy.

03-12-2006, 03:24 PM
Leadoff hit for Abad. Menechino up. No outs.

Menechino strikes out really quickly. Pinch hitter up with one out, that pinch hitter is the immortal Earl Snyder.

The Phils announcers are less than impressed with the traveling team the Reds sent (guess they are not aware of what Yanks foisted on Cincy on Friday).

The immortal Snyder flies out.

Two outs, one on.

03-12-2006, 03:28 PM
Base hit for _____, moving Abad to 3b.

Two outs, two on (first and third), and Denorfia up.

03-12-2006, 03:29 PM
Denorfia ground out.

4-1 Phils win.

Not much was learned in this one, I think.

03-12-2006, 03:32 PM
I think we now have concrete proof that playing the Phillies on Sunday leads to bad things ;)
