2-0 after one. Don't know what happened, but Weathers is still on the mound to start the 2nd.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 02:34 PM
1-2-3 top of the second by Weathers, still 2-0 TOR. Can't do full PBP, but I'll give updates as I can.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 02:41 PM
Lopez and Jr. had hits in the first. The second so far, Kearns single, LaRue K, McCracken single. Hatteburg PHing for Weathers right now, Freel on deck.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 02:45 PM
Hatteburg grounded out 1-6-3. Sounded like a possible DP if the SS had fielded the throw cleanly.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 02:48 PM
Freel grounds to SS to end the inning. After 2, TOR 2 CIN 0

I'm bitter right now, but seeing as that is what so upset the masses last year, Casey and the DP, seems Hatteberg is filling his role nicely:bang:

Ok, that's it. I'm done with this for the day. Good night.

Why is David Weathers starting?

So he can face their better players instead of scrubs at the end of the game. It's nothing unusual to see a closer work the first inning of a ST contest.

3-0 Jays in the middle of the 3rd.

Jays scored on 2 hits and an error. I couldn't tell if the error was on Freel or Kearns.

Odds on it was Freel.

Griffey: K's swinging

Jays 3-0 after 3

Danny Serafini

Didn't hear it all, was there an error? Joe was talking about how Freel broke the wrong way on a ball, but thought it went as a hit. By the way, for those who don't know it's Marty & Joe today.

traderumor

Freel has not been doing anything today defensively to make his case for the starting 2bman

I think you're right. I think they ruled it a hit, and Kearns got the error, because the ball got by him, which allowed the run to score.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:04 PM
Troy Glaus just walked on 4 pitches. Don't yet know who's pitching.

Edit: It's Shackelford.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:06 PM
Glaus advanced on a wild pitch, then moves to 3rd on a groundout.

DJF33
03-20-2006, 03:08 PM
Top of 4th: Shackleford on to pitch
Glauss: Walks on 4 straight
Wild pitch moves Glauss to 2nd
Hinski(sp?): Grounded out to 2nd, Glauss to 3rd
Molina: one-hopper to EE, holds Glauss and throws to first
Parker or Barker?: Fly out to center

Middle of 4 Jays 3-0

Danny Serafini

Big news everyone, today's the day we get Dr. Kremchek doing an inning of PBP.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:16 PM
Aurilia popped out to start the inning, Kearns then walked.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:18 PM
LaRue pops up, the catcher was able to make a nice play against the screen for the second out.

DJF33
03-20-2006, 03:20 PM
Bottom of 4th: Sounds like Lilly is still pitching
Aurilia: Popped out to SS

2-0 after one. Don't know what happened, but Weathers is still on the mound to start the 2nd.

Freel had an error on the 1st batter. Weathers then throws away a pickoff attempt. 2 errors in 4 pitches as Joe said. Leadoff (Adams???) scores on a double off the wall. Forgot how he scored.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:24 PM
Wagner was the pitcher in the 3rd. Weathers gave up 2 in the first two, Wagner one in the 3rd, Shackelford none in the 4th. Mike Burns will pitch a couple of innings later today.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:25 PM
Leadoff batter grounds out to 3B, then Standridge gets the gift of pitching to Toronto's pitcher and Ks him.

DJF33
03-20-2006, 03:26 PM
Top of 5th: Standridge on to pitch
Hill: Slow chopper to EE, EE throws him out.
Lilly: K's swinging
Adams: Flies out to Griffey

3-0 Jays middle of 5th

Standridge will make the team. He's a baseball guy and knows how to play the game.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:31 PM
Kata PH to start the inning and was retired. Freel beats out a grounder that could've been ruled an error.

Danny Serafini

Lopez hit one to the gap in right, but got nailed trying to stretch it into a double. Freel at 3rd, two out.

Kata: K's
Freel: Grounds to third, throw was wide, but sounds like they rule it a hit.
Lopez: Hit in gap but cut-off well, thrown out at 2nd, Freel to 3rd
Griffey: Grounds out to 2nd

3-0 Jays after 5

Mike Burns in to pitch. Denorfia in CF, Kata at SS

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 03:36 PM
I'm not sure where you get that Standridge is liked by Narron. He was a DanO pet.

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 03:37 PM
Burns gets the first out on a fly ball. And the second, too. Quick 0-2 on Glaus, a few fouls, then a called strike three!

Burns is looking Les Lancasterlicious, yo.

3-0 Jays after 5.5.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:38 PM
Denorfia getting some work early, the first batter (missed the name) and Cattalanatto both fly out to him.

Justin Speier (sp?) in to pitch. A couple other backups also in for Toronto. EE leading off with a single to left. Menechino in to PR.

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 03:44 PM
Leadoff single for EdE. Menechino pinch-runs. Aurilia up. He pounds one over the CF's head for a double, scoring the non-speedy Frankie and the Reds are on the board.

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 03:47 PM
Kearns slaps a manly single to center, but Aurilia is thrown out at the plate easily. Bad baserunning *and* defense for the Reds today. Wise Ks, and the Reds get only one.

3-1 after 6.

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 03:52 PM
Mike the Miz begins inning nummer zwei. So he has to go and walk the leadoff batter. I take it back, buddy- you're Warren Brusstar, not Les Lancaster.

Runner moves to second somehow, didn't hear.

Grounder to second is out number one. Runner to third. Grounder to first- nice throw by Richus cuts the guy down. Two outs, man on first.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 03:55 PM
Hinske moves to 2nd. Don't know if it was a wild pitch or passed ball because Joe was talking about his golf tournament or something.

Danny Serafini

Grounder to Freel gets the batter, runner moves to 3rd.

Grounder to Aurilia, who nails the runner at the plate. 2 outs.

Doc. Scott

LaRue misses another one. He's not doing very well today either.

But a fly to right ends the frame. Two scoreless innings for Mr. Burns.

3-1 Reds after 6.5.

Richiepoo runs like he's got a piano on his back. But even Casey usually could score from 2nd on a single to CF. But he knows how to win, I guess.

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 04:04 PM
First Reds batter is retired in the seventh. Freel grounds to short.

Chris Denorfia batting for the first time today. Liner up the gap in right-center becomes a stand-up triple!

Sardinha up. Ball one. Foul. Swing on a breaking pitch. Inside, ball two. Swing on a breaking pitch, see ya. Sigh.

3-1 Jays after 7.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 04:04 PM
Ryan Tallett (sp?) is in to pitch. Kata flies out to left center to start the inning.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 04:07 PM
Freel grounds out to SS. Denorifa follows with a stand up triple to right center. Dane Sardinha now in to bat.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 04:09 PM
Stunningly Sardinha Ks to end the inning. After 7 it's TOR 3 CIN 1. Reds only have 1 run to show for 10 hits today.

Ben Weber pitching for Toronto. Buncha scrubs in to play the field. And Chad Mottola.

Menechino gets ahead 3-1. Walks two pitches later.

Aurilia. 2-0 to start. Flies out to left-center.

B. Brian. Base hit to left! First and second.

Cruz pinch-hitting for Robbins. Double-play grounder, but the 1B is off the bag. Corners, two out. Bannon PRing for Cruz.

Wise. Bannon swipes second; didn't know this kid was so fast or aggressive. Dewayne is caught looking to end the inning.

3-1 after 8.

Danny Serafini

Wise gets called out on strikes for the second time today. After 8, TOR 3 CIN 1

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 04:33 PM
Todd Coffey now pitching. Eight appearances, eleven hits, 4.50 ERA.

Doc. Scott
03-20-2006, 04:34 PM
First pitch grounded to short. One down.

Danny Serafini
03-20-2006, 04:35 PM

Denorfia hits a high chop to short, throw to third: SAFE! Infield hit or FC, not sure.

First and third, nobody out.

Valentin pinch-hitting for Sardinha, thank God. 2-2 count. Foul. Ball three. Ball four, bases loaded!

Menechino. Abad on deck to pinch-hit for Coffey. 1-1 count; called strike two. High fly to left, caught... but Freel can't go! Too short. The ball, not Freel. One down.

Abad quickly K's on a changeup.

B. Brian is the last chance for Cincy. A base hit could win it. Check swing, ball one. Swing and a miss, count evens. And again. 1-2 count. LINED FAIR DOWN THE LEFT FIELD LINE AND THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE REDS 4-3 COMEBACK WIN CINCINNATI WE'LL BE BACK IN JUST A MOMENT
