This was today's lineup (marc's blog)

Tony Womack 2B
Felipe Lopez SS
Ken Griffey Jr. CF
Adam Dunn LF
Edwin Encarnacion 3B
Scott Hatteberg 1B
Austin Kearns RF
Javier Valentin C

If you replace Valentin with LaRue think this might be the OD lineup?

He'll split Dunn and JR with Kearns.

I'm still optimistic (blissfully ignorant, maybe) that Ryan Freel will be the 2B.

I'm surprised nobody noticed this in the game thread today...

Seriously, has anyone speculated as to why Jerry Narron would bat Tony Womak in lead off?

Obviously, it's the wrong thing to do. All logic and all statistics demonstrate clearly that he is terrible. What is wrong with Jerry Narron's mind that would make him think this was a good idea?

I may post more on this later, but I seriously think this is a very interesting example of cognitive dissonance. The other possibilities (which I think have to be seriously considered, given how dumb this is on its face) are that Narron has a mental illness of some type or that, for whatever reason, he is trying to lose baseball games.

It's so frustrating that it almost makes baseball not fun to watch. Seriously, I enjoy watching games at the end of the year, when there's no hope at all, more - because I can't stand to see us throw runs away like this.

Hopefully I'm wrong and Freel or someone else, anyone, will play 2B and/or leadoff.

Because he was decent once, years ago, and the Reds love crap like that.

I would like to see Freel as the starting 2B, but I really think it will be Womack.

This is what I would like to see:

SS FeLo
LF Dunn
CF Griffey
RF Kearns
3B EdE
C LaRue
1B Hatteberg
2B Womack

No more Dunn batting second! The guy is a middle order run producer! Come on fellas!

I know the topic has been hashed to death, but seeing Womack and Hatteberg in the same lineup gives me indigestion.

Not if we go after Craig Wilson.

Pirates want pitching, and unless you want to give up Harang or Claussen there's no way that Wilson will be a Red. More likely is that they pick up Choi, but even that is a real long shot.

If that's the OD lineup, color me unimpressed.
