Is Bronson Arroyo's haircut officially a "mullet"?

I know in Bawl-stun it's probably very GQ to sport that kinda hair-do, but it Ap-puh-lay-chee-uh it closely resembles a mullet comparable to Danny Graves circa 1999. They used to have some cool "Fear the Mullet" banners up at the games back in the day and I wondered if it would be apprporiate to break out the banners again or would that just piss off ol' Bronson

No, it's not a mullet.

Barry Melrose....now there's a mullet for you.

Here's some pictoral definitions:

A mullet:
http://imagescommerce.bcentral.com/merchantfiles/5084954/mullet%20wig.jpg

Another mullet:
http://www.geocities.com/the_republic_03/mullet.jpg

Its ugly balding cousin, the skullet:
http://www.mulletshirts.com/i/pic2.jpg

for comparison's sake, Bronson Arroyo:
http://www.newburycomics.com/rel/stores/newburycomics/user-images/bronson-arroyo_instore.jpg

As one can clearly see, Bronson is not sporting the classic "Buisness in the front, party in the back" look. He merely utilizes the middle part on his longish hair.

Contrast that to Barry Melrose, who utilizes the side part with the mullet... hideous:

I don't think Arroyo has a technical mullet. But he is definately going for the grunge rock look. Think Scott Stapp. But I definately think he should go for the mullet because hitters fear the mullet. But then again, that is coming from a guy who lives in an area where mullets are common place... Adams County. Nothing scarier than a guy who actually thinks he looks good with a mullet, or even worse, a woman with a mullet. YIKES!

"woman with a mullet" - see LPGA tour, where "ladymullets" once ruled. Not nearly as bad as it used to be.

Would a "ladymullet" also be a "mullette"?

Ahhhhh!! That is not even an ironi-mullet! That is a full-on sinceramullet!!

Real mullet: think Richard Marx. Arroyo is just "casual". Or, because I cannot possibly derive enough amusement from his musical pursuits, "creedified".

So, in one week, are these threads going to go away are will they continue to exist quietly in the shadow of actual baseball?

I hope they stick around... any day I can go find scary pictures of mullets on google images is a good day in my book. Does anyone else appreciate thatthe she-mullet was at a reds game? That means she lives somewhere near us.... scary thought.

In case you doubt the force of the Mullet, I have one picture for you!

http://bumptiously.blogspot.com/DuaneTheDog.jpg

In my estimation, the Reds lack one key component in their pitching staff... A crazy pitcher with a crazy mullet. But, in order for the force of the Mullet to be effective, you must use it with the force of white trash. Here are some examples:

http://www.et.byu.edu/~jrp64/images/mullet.jpg

Jean Shorts and rolled sleeves on the T-shirt  Nice touch. This guy took the mullet and made it his own! The only way this could have been better would be if he had cut the sleeves out of the shirt, and the shorts were frayed on the bottom, had a hole in the leg, and were way to short, but overall, I give it a B-

 :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy Anybody want to guess what kind of car he has on blocks in his front yard. Wow, you sir are my hero. Between the American Flag, the Miller Light shirt, and the amazing stash, I give it an A-. After the initial amazement is gone, you realize that there should have been a rebel flag. This guy is a white trash poser! I chang my grade to a C.

http://www.slickware.com/uploads/66/99/SPECTACULAR_MULLET.JPG

Now this woman is true white trash. The jean vest is a very nice touch. How about the woman standing beside her? Good friend, or life partner? You be the judge. Overall, decent mullet, nice presentation, and the look on her face when she finally realizes she is different from other people is priceless. I give her an A.

http://www2.truman.edu/~d1725/mullet3.jpg

Although at first glimpse, he seems to have everything a Mullet man should have, Cutoff Jean shorts, sleeveless shirt, Digital watch, etc, you soon realize that this picture was taken in front of a dumpster in an attemps to make him look more white trash. What a shame, this kid had everything it took, but gave himself away as a White Trashe Poser! This F will not even show my deep disapointment.

http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/g/e/ger116/Joe Dirt like mullet.JPG

Decent mullet... hey wait a minute, I don't remember the Mullet being part of the hippie movement! WHITE TRASH POSER!

http://www.dontbetheguy.com/images/mullet.jpg

Classic case of the loser in high school who tries to be cool by embracing his loser roll and making himself into even more of a loser. For any kids on this board who think they can become cool if other kids laugh at them, look at what happened to this kid. Tragic, just tragic.

Wanted to end this post with the perfect Mullet, but the perfect Mullet is a tricky creature to capture. This will have to do for now.

Have any pics, I would love to see the mullet in full glory!

(Que music for True Men of Genius, only the old version, True American Heros) I Salute you, mister mullet wearing who thinks he is a chick magnent guy. Because of you, we all know what true masculinity looks like. Jean shorts too short? Heck no, cut them a little higher. Doesn't it look rediculous? Ha! Only if rediculous mean cool. Buisness in the front, party in the back, heck no, when your around, its party all the time. So put you chest out, stand in full mullatious glory and break open a ice cold Bud Light, because without you, who else could show such disreguard to decency or fashion.

Living in Georgia in 1990 it was a state law that all highschool aged men must wear a mullet.

I went with the Steve "Sting" Borden version myself. Spikey on top, shaved on the sides, long and sexy in the back.

I had a very good senior prom.

Just sayin.

In honor of the offseason and having nothing better to do, I am bringing this thread back from the dead and revivng interest into the most mysterious entity of my time, the mullet. You still hear whispers of its existence in far corners of the country, hidden away in places inhabited by heavy metal, cutoff jean shorts, sleeveless shirts dipicting your favorite beverage or band. The good ol boys for whom time has seemed to have stood still. Yeah, maybe society looks down on these people now, but at one time, they were the bravest, most fashionable people around. I shared the same Geography teacher as my twin brother. This is where Mullets became a fascination to me and fellow classmates. This post is for you, Mr. Newman, a true reds fan and the best teacher at NAHS back in the day. One who inclued the object with the points S-K-A-N-K on one of his tests in honor of one of his student's favorite sayings. Those days will be missed. :notworthy

Also in honor of you, Masters of the mullet. May your spirit and bravery forever live in the hearts of all americans so that we shall never be afraid to go against what society says is cool. So that we can properly wear Jean shorts and cutoff shirts. Let us all see metallica shirts only on people with mullets. With a beer in one hand as we drive our 1979 camaro with windows down and Van Halen playing loud and clear. This one's for you.

I had one in the early 90s, but it didn't seem so out of place then because I knew a lot of guys who had them. Then all of a sudden I looked around and I was one of the few normal guys who still had one. Shortly after that was a trip to the barber.
