REGIS PHILBIN IS HOMELESS!

Sources close to Regis Philbin say his record-breaking television appearances are due to the fact that he has no place to go, and hasn't left the studio lots in over 40 years.

Regis started in television as a way to feel at home someplace, insiders report. "He liked the homey sets and the feeling of being around a family with the crew and all. It just became a way of life with him."

Philbin has everything he needs on the studio lots. Clothes are provided for television appearances, and laundry is done after every taping.

"And you can hardly walk 50 feet without running into a buffet on one set or another," says a family friend, "so you don't have to worry about grocery shopping or deciding what to cook."

Producers and studio honchos are aware of the arrangement and are happy to accommodate him. "Hey," a director says, "if we need somebody in a pinch, he's always around somewhere. How do you think he managed to break that record?"

Didn't he have a son who was also homeless, but much less well off than Regis?
I remember reading about that in one of Howard Stern's books (I'm thinking it was "Private Parts") about how he had a telethon during one of his shows to raise money for Regis' son because Regis wouldn't offer him any financial assistance.

If Regis is truly homeless, I am the Pope.

If Regis is truly homeless, I am the Secretary-General of the UN and the leader of the free world.

If Regis is truly homeless, then his ability to save money ranks up there with the REDS ability to find good pitching.

This is the type of paper that prints something like "Elvis found with aliens from outer space eating chocolate ice cream." I wouldn't bet the mortgage that this is true.

Alex, buddy. There are still a few hundred days left in the year. Pace yourself, bro. You can post one of these a day and we'll still get to read two hundred more of them than we wanted to. :)
