It's a small sample size thus far, but I'm loving the plate discipline shown by Reds hitters in the first two games.

Taking a lot of pitches, waiting for something to hit. It's good to see, and it's running pitch counts high again today.

Pitch efficient inning by Arroyo, he's throwing stuff at the letters and getting the Cubs to hack into surfire fly ball outs.

Too many times last year Reds pitchers would come out after a big inning by the offense and let a run or two back to the opposing team. Good to see Arroyo throw a quick inning with a 0 on the board after taking the lead in the last frame.

I'm thinking he's a ringer - "Oh, I hate batting"

Bronson got a hit in his 1st major league at bat. AND he came in as a pinch hitter. He just hates having to mess up his rhythm out there, completely understandable. Saberhagen once said after he was traded to the Mets that he would be completely in his 'zone,' come off the mound with a ton of stuff moving around in his head and then he would hear "Sabes, on deck!" It's not something you ever get used to when you are that kind of a pitcher.
Also to note, Bronson played SS growing up.

Arroyo's flat out going after the hitters right now. The only ball he threw was one to remind Jones to keep his chin up.

Jr. Homerun. Awesome.

And, echo M2's comment. Arroyo is just toying with the Cubs, commanding both sides of the plate, busting them in to keep them honest, has them off-balance. It's a joy to watch.
