Might be first ever dragons game thread...

BJ Szymanski just absolutely launched one on 1st street outside the stadium to tie 1-1.

Fifth Third Field is, dollar for dollar, one of the best stadiums in the country. For a single-A facility, it's by far the best. I love that place.

I'm at UD and it is 66, but my roommate from C'ville says it might be in the 20's (try 25) on TWC (which we don't have here).

dont know his velocity or how good he is really throwing, but fischer is sure getting a lot of groundballs. thats a good thing for a reds prospect ;)

whats funny bout the guy who just got out, griffen(a guy i really like by the way since i saw him at baylor) is he should have been out 2 maybe 3 times last night and got 3 xbh. he hit 2 tripples the went over the of's head but didnt hit the wall or anything. thats how bad the of's were. ive never seen a ball land that short yet still go over an of's head

Yeah I was way off on JD's name at first.

Paul Janish infield single. Jay Bruce up with 1 out, 1 on.

First time I got to see him bat. I can't match him with a major leaguer yet (yeah yeah larry walker). But I see a lot of Todd Helton too. He has a solid two-handed swing like Walker and Helton. Flipped one in the gap and got a double after fouling a few off. Real good AB.

There is that line that I can't stand. "alot of times a solo homer is a rally killer" what ever.

i missed bj's homer, but from last night, he still swings through the ball too much. swung and missed on balls right down the middle a lot. has to learn to make more contact and not just try to hit the ball a mile. with his speed, he needs to put the ball in play

NewEraReds

Bruce full count. Drills the pitcher with a hit, bounced all the way back to the catcher. He beats it out for a single.

Final update...Perfect Reds style, bullpen comes in and blows 8-3 lead to lose 9-8. Jay Bruce and BJ Szymanski both had two hits (1B, 2B and HR, 1B). Mike Griffin hit his 3rd triple of the year. Dragons are now 0-2.

Did anyone see Terrell Young tonight? They've got him listed at 203lbs and he was throwing pretty darn hard at 175lbs out of high school.
