With the trade of Brandon Phillips and Aurilia batting cleanup do you think the Reds are possibly trying to show Aurilia off?

Of the guys they have at 2B, I think he could bring the most, but thats if he is traded closer to the trade deadline. Personally I like having his bat in the lineup. He's a veteran with a solid bat and solid defense at all 4 infield positions. He isn't great, but I could see a team asking about him to help them down the stretch. Personally, I liked what he did at first base the other night. He didn't do anything great, but he was very solid. I think he could be a very big asset to this team, or any other. That just my opinion though, and probably not worth much.

I wonder how much Larue and Aurilia could bring in a trade?

Speaking trades, I noticed in one of the threads on Marc L.'s blog, someone mentioned Chisox were offering Garland or Garcia for Jr...is there anything to this? It was the first I had heard of it.

If that was a possibility, Krivsky better be all over it! We already have Freel and Denorfia to take over in center.

That would make sense with all of these darn second baseman.

Money wouldn't work. Garcia's and Garland's contracts match up better with Juniors.

I would take Freddy before Garland also.

Freel is way more valuable than RA IMO.

How about Womack to the Marlins? His contract is affordable even for the Marlins. They are looking for leadoff hitter and a veteran to play the infield (where are you now Pokey Reese?).

If Krivsky could get a young arm in return, I would be doing cartwheels.

I'm one of the outsiders, but I like what the Marlins did this offseason. They stock piled the team full of some promising prospects. If Florida wanted Freel, Aurilia, Womack.. I'd be willing to let them chose for one of there young arms

No way they would want RA or Womack. They could have some interests in Freel to play CF however.

Garcia looked bad his first start. Homer Hawk kept trying to pass it off as Garcia intentionally trying to change his style, but he seems to have lost quite a few mph off the FB.

Would love to see them work a deal with the Twins for either Crain or Rincon. Either one could become a nice closer. Both have mid 90's fastballs and have good control......

I believe what they are looking for is veteren presence at 2b, and with his being able to help out in the OF (where they also need help) his $1 million contract is very affordable
