Steve Phillips just said it on ESPN.

Thoughts?

I love Junior, I really do, but is he going to put up another 200+ home runs in his career? We've all noted he's lost a step in CF, so if he does it won't be as a Red unless he moves positions.

He meant this year. They were talking about 2006 only.

Oh this year.... well yes, with that I agree. I have my doubts about Bonds getting enough AB's to even qualify for the batting title [not that I think he'd win that, it's just an example of how few AB's I think he'll get.]

I'm guessing between injury and IBB Bonds averages 2.7 AB's per game. So it won't be hard for Junior to out do him.

Maybe, Bonds will get walked a ton and when he gets stuff to hit I think he struggles.

JR only has to stay healthy.

If your talking OPS I say no way(Bonds walks so much); if your talking total HR's (hits) I can see that happening.

I'm glad to see ESPN shaping such a positive image of Junior.

Did anyone else see Bob Ryan on the Sports Reporters (or whatever that Sunday morning show is called) tell America to root for Griffey. It was a week or two ago and I almost posted at the time. His point was that Griffey is a good guy and family man who has achieved his success honestly.

I'd rather not see Bob Ryan....he doesn't have a very TV friendly mug. :p:

Gee, there's a real brainbusting prediction.
