Shackelford deserves his own thread. He was just fine last year, 2.43 ERA in 37 appearances for the Reds. Don't you have to reward success? With the bullpen so miserable, no reason to keep him at AAA.

Bring back Shack.

Chris Hammond has nothing left in the tank. I think it is time to part ways.

Another fine O'Brien signing.

Come on, Hammy just got his ERA below 100.00 ... he only gave up one run in his 2/3 of an innning. <UGH!> My kingdom for a serviceable reliever! This is one of the worst Reds 'pens in history. Bring on Shack and trade for 2 or 3 more... pleeease!

I'm not giving up on Hammond yet. Weathers and Mercker (i think mercker) started off real slow last year. Hammond DOES know how to pitch, he is a vet, and crafty, scrappy, and probably a mocker, but I would keep him for a bit still. He has the ability to turn it around.

Shackelford had 4 strikeouts in 1.1 tonight with no walks, although he did allow two hits and was charged with a blown save. Bats ultimately won the game.

Let's get him back up.

Yea, I am getting a little antsy huh? Ok, give them some more time ... but not too much. It would be nice if ONE of them would get in the zone tho. dam. :bang:

A Shack attack!

Works for me. Might not solve global warming, but if we need to Weathers a rough storm, or swim in Mercker waters, Shack beats getting Burned or Belisled to.

The one saving grace: strong Coffey in the morning. I guess for now we can skip the Hammond egg. That's too much cholesterol combined with White milk.

Love Shack. I'd agree. But I'd still Wagner that the future success of our pen lies elsewhere.

Bring back Shackelford and Wagner, get rid of White and Hammond.
