So far tonight he has a one hitter thru six innings versus Clearwater. Just one walk too with six or seven K's. Very encouraging.

He was, at the time, my one and only favored pick under DanO.

I still think he'll show up somewhere in the majors.

He is looking real strong from the stats hes put up tonight. Do you all think we could get a good solid pitcher out of Bailey, Wood, Lecure, and Ward? I know its far from easy trying to predict how low minor players will turn out in the majors but i think out of those pitchers i listed atleast one should make it to the majors.

Hey guys, new member here (first post) I really like everything I've read about Lecure. What's his fastball clock in at?

I'm not sure what the guns are saying so far this spring, but his scouting reports last year had him in the 90-92 range. He supposedly has really good command and refinement on his pitches. Hopefully he keeps finding success at Sarasota, but the jump that will probably tell us the most about his future is when he heads to AA. At that point, the hitters begin to really catch up to the more "refined" pitchers and the actual strength of his stuff will show. I like what I'm seeing so far and hope he (and the other Reds pitching prospects) keeps missing bats.

Agreed that its awfully tough to predict low minor players up to the majors, even more so w/ pitchers. However isn't it fun to dream that all four of these will make it up to the Majors, and perhaps form the Reds equivalent to Atlanta's mid to late-90s big 3 of Maddux, Glavine & Smoltz. Man that would certainly be nice.

Aaaaaaahhhhh, fresh home-grown pitchers! So much better than repackaged crap.

What a start! I think he'll follow along Gardner's path this year. Dominate High A and then get called up to AA towards mid season.
