reds44
04-18-2006, 12:26 AM
1. Freel CF
2. Lopez SS
3. Dunn LF
4. Kearns RF
5. RA 1B (I would put EE here, but I REALLY doubt Narron will)
6. EE 3B
7. Javy C
8. BP 2B

Honestly, as long as Kearns and Dunn are healthy are offense won't be hurt too much. If they do go down, then uh-oh.

I doubt Narron would be able to stand having 3 righties in a row.. We will probably see a lot of Hatteberg

I'd like to flip Kearns and Dunn - But, what do I know about baseball.

With JR in there.

1. Freel - 2nd
2. Lopez - SS
3. JR - CF
4. Kearns - RF
5. Dunn - LF
6. Aurilla - 1st
7. Eddie - 3rd
8. LaRue/Javy - C

I would call up Chris Denorfia and put him in center. The chances of this happening are about as good as the sun crashing into the earth, however.

Denorfia has got to be in CF. He has nothing to prove in AAA and the reason he was sent down was to play everyday. Well guess what? Heres his chance to play everyday in the bigs. I say put Denorfia in CF and Freel back at 2B with Philips ready to come off the bench if Freel is put in another spot so someone can take a day off. Krivsky is big on defense and here is a chance to do that with out making major changes. If LaRue is ready to come back then ditch McCracken or dare I say Womack and bring LaRue and Denorfia back up.

What I would love see happen: No time than now to upset the fruit basket so get rid of White, Hammond, Womack, McCracken, possibly Burns, DL Griffey. That means I now need to add 6 players to my 25-man roster. 4 of those men are LaRue, Denorfia, Wagner, and Shackelford. I would also be working to deal for 2 RP by dealing a catcher or trying to deal Womack before I cut him. Then we should be in the ballpark of a good team to turn over to Narron and his crew. Now its time for me as a GM to get back to my serious business of working a trade for some SP.

With that being said....the only change will be LaRue will be activated from the DL.

I have faith in the the team the Reds put on the field, Im starting to have faith in a few of the pitchers, I have faith even in trades that Krivsky makes, I have faith in Krivsky's long term play, but I have NO faith in how Krivsky/Narron manage the 25-man roster right now.

That would be my pick too.

Yeah I would love that lineup too. All of a sudden, the D ain't too shabby, especially the combined range of your outfield. ahhhh... to dream

EdE is too high in most of these lineups. He doesn't even belong in the lineup. He's a decent hitter (no better than RA), and he's terrible in the field. The Reds obviously have enough hitting right now, but they're dead last in fielding in all of MLB. EdE's a big reason why: he's 53rd in fld% amonst 3Bs in the bigs right now and has two more errors than any other 3B. RA, on the other hand, hasn't made an error at any position yet and is hitting about the same if not better...

Freel LF
Lopez SS
Dunn 1B
Kearns RF
EE 3B
Larue/Javy C
Denorfia CF
Phillips 2B

Dude, come on - what are you, some kinda defensive minded sissy?? Putting people at 2nd and CF who can actually make plays is for sissies!

Seriously, that would be my lineup with Junior out, if I had my druthers.

And when Junior came back:

Freel 2B
Lopez SS
Griffey LF
Dunn 1B
Kearns RF
EdE 3B
Deno CF
Larue/Valentin C

While I'd like to see Denorfia in the starting lineup, I'm going to go with the best configuration of who will probably actually be playing.

CF Freel
SS Lopez
LF Dunn
RF Kearns
1B Aurilia
3B Encarnacion
C Valentin
2B Phillips/Womack

I'd go

Freel 2B
Eddie E 3B
Dunn LF
Kearns RF
Lopez SS
Aurilia 1B (dear god)
Valentin C
Deno CF

I heart EddieE in the two hole.
