Jose Ramon Mesa...he and his wife Mirla have 6 children; sons Ralph (6/29/79), Juan Jose (8/4/85), Jesse (8/17/88), and Jose Jr. (8/13/93), and daughters Yamely (1/15/74) and Yenny (7/16/87)

Maybe they are his wife's from a previous marriage or possibly adopted. Believe it or not, having children at an early age AND logic are both common in West "by God" Virginia.;)

That's what I'm thinking because it would be pretty amazing to be a father at 7 years old.

I'm guessing Yamely and Ralph are not his biological kids.

He would have been 13 in 1979. Still young, but not biologically impossible.

Yeah, but he would have been 7 when Yamely was born in '74.

I wonder if he had the goatee back then. Older chicks dig the goatee.

It appears that Yamely's birth year was a typo.

Has six children: Ralph (29 June 1979), Yamely (15 January 1984), Juan (4 August 1985), Jenny (16 July 1987), Jesse (17 August 1988), and Jose Jr. (13 August 1993). Jose Jr. and Juan have served as batboys for the Philadelphia Phillies.


Still, he was just barely 13 when Ralph was born.
