Reds starter Dave Williams has looked totally lost so far this season in his two starts

9.0IP, 11H, 8ER, 5BB, 5K, 8.00ERA, 1.78WHIP

So lets hear some guesses as to what his final line will end up being tonight against the Brew Crew

My guess?

3.1IP, 7ER, 11H, 4BB

I'll say even earlier than that--I love Milwaukee from the right side of the plate, considerably less so from left (though I guess it doesn't matter when it's Williams pitching). I'll say Carlos Lee hits a granny off him with one out in the third that ends his night: 2 1/3 IP 8 R. The other particulars I'm less concerned about.

Ouch -- I'll go with a poor, but not quite as pitiful performance of

5.1 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 3 BB -- Rick White allows 2 inherited runners to score in the 6th.

I was hoping this thread title ended with - "Give us your Dave Williams, your ineffective bullpen, your Eric Milton gopher balls yearning to be free."

On topic - 4IP, 6R, (3 unearned) 12 hits, 4 BB, 4 K's

EdE drives in the go-ahead run- final 11-9 Cincinnati.

No love for Dave?

How about 6 1/3 IP 3 ER 4K 2BB

Reds win 6-3

I'm guessing he doesn't give up a hit tonight.

I think he realizes he's got alot to prove.

I think he goes 6.1 giving up 4 earned. Not stellar by any means, but that should keep them in the game.

If he had the same stuff he had the other day I don't think he survives the 4th, realizing that the bullpen is taxed and Narron will be inclined to have him "take one for the team".

3.2IP 7H 7ER 3BB 1K 2HR

TRF

4 2/3 6 ER 4 HR's.

Reds still win despite that line.

i know today is 4/20 but god damn

williams has a 2-1 record 4.11 era vs MIL in the past 4 years, with a 3/14 bb/k ratio.

i say 5 IP, 2 ER, 4 k 2bb, reds win 8-4

my real guess is: 6 IP, 8 Hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

He's going to give up many hits?

In fairness, Williams pitched an ok game last Sunday against Pittsburgh. He went 6 innings and gave up 2 earned runs while striking out 3 and walking 2. It's Saturday's start against the Cardinals that have his numbers looking as bad as they do.

It's Saturday's start against the Cardinals that have his numbers looking as bad as they do.It was a fastball that sat 79-82 and topped out at 84 combined with a chage at 76 thatg caused his trouble. If he has the same stuff the Brewers will pound him.

my guess 5 1/3, 9H, 6R, 3 ER, 2BB 1K. Defense once again puts the Reds in a hole.

I'll wager anyone a $1 that Matt Belisle throws more innings than Dave Williams tonight.

Wow way to scew his stats. I don't think Dave Williams is good (low 80s fast balls will not cut it) but he had a pretty good start against the Pirates in his 1st start of the year. His stats are terrible because of the Cards game.

I'll take that as well. Sacagawea from me...shiny one too.

As for DW: 5.1 innings 7 hits 4R 3 earned 1BB 3 K's

Reds win, 7-5

I'm re-posting a thought I had in another thread -

Darrell May can give us the same stuff as Dave Williams. Why not give him a shot.

Worse, Darrell May can give us the same stuff as Eric Milton. Why not give him a shot?

Then bring up the Lizard.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Lizard at all.

i'll take that bet.

I have two JFK 50 cent pieces. You are on.

Even though I predicted Williams would go 4 - Belisle's not going to hit more than once - so 2 innings, plus Rick White, plus David Weathers, plus Todd Coffey = Victory!

Actually, Williams has looked lost only in his second start.

He pitched very well in his first start.

He looks lost tonight too. He's kinda bad.

My prediction was wrong. I thought he'd throw a no-no. Drat.

Looks like Belisle is still in here in the 7th inning. Williams only went 3 innings. I think we have a winner.

People what I have seen from Dave Williams so far I am not inpressed at all with this guy.Sure he pitched good in is first start but that was it!!! He has a dead arm,he can only get up to 84 mph 89 at best.If he stays in the starting rotation then we are in trouble b/c the batter knows whats coming!! its either a slow breaking ball or slow curve. He needs to be moved out of the rotation atleast for now b/c he has yet to find his comfort rythem.

Send him to AAA for "work" or whatever you want to call it, he was throwing BP tonight, and at GAB a lot of those long outs are in the stands.

Ramirez has a couple of more starts like his last one, and sign me up for the bandwagon. Then again, Belisle didn't do awful in his 4 inning last night. I think he should get first shot at it.
