If he wants traded so bad then why can't he be sent to the Indians for the PTBNL??He would be happy and the reds could be happy,or does the Indians have to agree with it??

Of course the Indians have to agree to it. Otherwise we could just give them any crappy, overpaid player that has no value. "Walmack" would not get the job done.

Hey, if they didn't have to agree we could sign Womack to a 10 year 50 Million/year deal and sneak him to the Cards as a PTBNL.

I just thought of another thing. Walmart - Always low prices. Walmack - always low on-base percentages.

Typically in these PTBNL transactions there is a list of 2-5 players that will be agreed upon by both teams. Sometimes its decided by how well the original player does [ie if Phillips does well the Tribe gets a better player, if he doesn't do well then they get a lesser player] sometimes it's simply continuing to narrow down the list.

If I remember, the Yankees are paying part of Tony's contract, am I right? If so then my question is, if by some chance another team would take him in a trade, not likely I know, would the Yankees still pay part of it or would it be void?

900,000. We 're paying the remainder of the 1.9 tab (at least that is what rfs told me ;) ). That makes me sick!

Ok, $900,000. But you still didn't answer my question. What happens if he is traded? Do the Yankees still pay?

Whoever gets him in a trade is stuck with the contract less what the Yankees gave us and less what we have paid him so far.
