are the reds too cheap to do throwback jersey days??

i thought we were supposed to be reverting to more history.....why not bust out a pinstripe hat once in a while

I don't know, I too would like the see them wear throwback jerseys at least a few times a year. I think they have in the past, but not too sure. Maybe the Indians series?

I'd actually like to see them bring back the 1985 alternate jerseys for a few games.

The Reds throwback occasionally, wore 1970 uniforms once and they did Negro Ball ones in 1999.

The 80's are a little too soon for a team with "real" history IMO.

The did throwbacks twice in 2004, I think.

As much as I enjoy them, there's only so many times a team can do it until it loses it's novelty. On the other hand, the Reds haven't worn some of their uniforms from the first half of the twentieth century as throwbacks in a long time.

The Brewers are getting good mileage out of their ball-in-glove throwbacks this year, by the way. They're wearing them for every Sunday home game. It wouldn't surprise me to see them bring them back full-time in the near future. Their biggest success as a franchise came while wearing these.

They used to do throwbacks in Cinergy as "Turn Back the Clock" nights where you could $1 drinks and $1 hot dogs.

Otherwise, it was just the same old awful Reds in different threads. Instead of spending tons of dollars on throwback uniforms for everyone, hire another advanced scout or something. Not worth the cost, unless you're bringing the old-school pajama-style uniforms back.
