I thought both were strikes but Dunn is standing so far away from the plate it makes them look outside.

a average mlb outfielder catches the last ball soriano missed.......ball was hit hard.....should still have been caught by most any outfielder.......he was there, just miss judged it...

I agree with George on this one. IMO, Scott Rolen is the best defensive third baseman of all time and that should get him in the hall.

JN decides that Williams pitched so well tonight that he won't let him lose this game. I mean Williams pitched deep in to the game (as deep as Williams can) and pitched a shut out (3 runs for Williams is like a shut out for any other pitcher)

Maybe, but it's not automatic. Brooks was a great fielder and his legend is even bigger because of his World Series exploits. But I think Rolen is just as good if not better. THat's a credit to how good Rolen is, not a put down on Brooks.

There's a tendency to always put the guys of yesteryear above the players of today. It's natural because those guys have kind of a mythical aura about them. BUt Rolen could pick it with any of those guys.

Not really, the tendency almost always goes the other way....witness the names being thrown out as a better defensive third baseman than Scott Rolen.

Rolen may be a HOFer but it's premature. He needs another 5 years of sterling play. I doubt his health allows him to do that.

And he's the best fielding thirdbaseman since Robinson.

Third base has been a historically weak position so it's not difficult to climb the ranks, especially if you excel with the glove.

Defensively, I'm not sure where Rolen is exactly, but he's definitely up there with Robinson, Schmidt, etc, and offensively he hasn't been a slouch. Believe it or not, but Rolen has a great shot to be a deserving Hall of Famer by the time he retires.

Stanton threw Dunn a belt high fastball right down the middle at 88 mph...and he fouled it off. Narron - give him a day off. He looks awful at the plate.that will be Thursday.

Firstly, this awful pitching, horrible defence and fool for a manager sports a 13-7 record.

Secondly, Williams gave up a bloop hit and a bunt single in the 6th. That's not getting "rocked".
