Any knuckleball pitcher looks good when on.

They just look REALLY bad when they are off.

Funny thing is, I thought I watched him pitch before and I don't remember him being a knucleballer. I think he just sucks so bad it makes him look like he's a knuckleballer.

I could have sworn they were saying on Baseball Tonight that he wasn't really a knuckler or something, but it was something he was looking to try out, and had worked on it. But who knows, when that "other league" comes on I'm not really listening.

He used to be a regular pitcher, but for some reason decided to try the knuckler this season, maybe because he just wasn't very good. It would be very surprising if he managed to make himself useful to a major league team as a knuckleballer this quickly. He's probably more of a project now than help, whether he gives up on the knuckler or not.

I bet he would love to go to Safeco, Petco or some pitchers park......Going from Texas to GAB can't be high on any pitchers list.........

Dickey clears waivers, remains in Rangers organization

April 26, 2006

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Texas Rangers knuckleballer R.A. Dickey cleared waivers and was sent outright Wednesday back to Triple-A Oklahoma.

The Rangers designated Dickey for assignment Sunday when they purchased the contract of left-hander Ron Mahay from Oklahoma. Dickey had to clear waivers for the Rangers to keep the former first-round pick, who has developed the knuckleball over the last two seasons.

Dickey, drafted in 1996, made the opening day rotation for the first time this season. He then allowed six home runs to Detroit in his only start April 6 to match the post-1900 major league record and was optioned to Oklahoma the next day.
