I'd love to hear what the Astros' excuses are for losing the game today. :help:

I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm sure they'll come up with something.

Here's a potential one:

We don't have Roger. :D

The sun was in their eyes

They ate too much Skyline Friday Night

They got lost on the west side and got to bed late and were tired

Thought they could twang at Annie's, discovered they could only rock.

Adam Dunn struck out too much. Oh, wait, he doesn't play for them, does he? ;)

The Texans bummed them out.

There were not enough fans at the game to boo them....

Krono beat me to the Texans reference so I'll modify this to say they were too busy watching the Draft in the Clubhouse to worry about some boring old baseball game.

We are waiting for Adam Dunn before we start beating the Reds, Astrobuddy says he'll be here late next week.

Craig Biggio was out too late trying to score a dime-bag to calm his nerves. You'd be suprised at what you learn about some players when you have friends that are former big-leaguers.

Garner said his guys failed to capitalize on Harang's early high pitch count and "didn't play their best."

Nothing for the bulletin board, I'm afraid.

Does MLB test for weed?
Don't know. I have a good friend that came up in the Phillies organization and ended up in the Majors with the Indians and he was at a few parties that Biggio was at and this is where he witnessed the weed smoking. Right now, I'm going to say no they don't test for it, because he talked to a couple of his former teammates and they said Biggio as well as others are still doing it.

This is kind of related I guess, but I've always wondered with the money these guys make, how easy would it be for them to shell out some cash and have a "clean" person do the urine test for them?

"It's hard to get four runs off Andy," Houston manager Phil Garner said. "When you do, you know something's not right."

Shoulda said...

"It's hard to get four runs off Andy, when you do, you know you're one of the premier offenses in major league baseball"
