Before you spend too much $$$, it might be a good idea to wait and see if Bronson will stay a REDS player after this year. Although he is under a multi-year deal, I believe he has a clause that allows him to become a free agent at the end of the year if he was traded.

I hope he stays, keeps pitching well and we see lots of Arroyo jerseys in the stands at GABP for the next few seasons!

Wrong. See thread elsewhere on this fine site.

Hal McCoy is flat wrong about that.

Not True RedsFan about Arroyo. He will be here till his contract ends.... He doesn't have enough time in to make that rule good.

check out this thread.

Well that is good! Thanks for straightening that (and me!) out.

Bronson keeps throwing like he has and I might be buying that jersey... :)

They didn't as of yesterday, but that doesn't mean they won't today or very soon.

You can always get one at Koch's... they sell "virgin" jerseys and you customize.

I'd never buy a player's jersey....just not permanent enough of an investment with how much those things cost.

That's why you buy the jersey of a player that you'll be proud to wear even after they're long gone. Take my Larkin jersey for example. Still wear it. Got a Dunner BP jersey. I'll wear it after he's gone. (Not that I'm comparing the two's accomplishments). I appreciate what they've done. Adam's been here long enough to make himself a Red in my mind, not just a player.

Larkin's different. He's a legend in Reds history. Arroyo, he's a starter who'd rather be in Boston. Ill hold my cash for now until he reaches "Larkin" status.

I don't think we're disagreeing. I wouldn't buy a Bronson jersey yet either. He hasn't made that leap from player to Red. Dunner's getting there.

i did but only paid $29.99 at the dayton mall 2 years ago. with all the injuries they were getting rid of them.:D

the best deal though i picked up a authenic adam dunn jersey at jc pennys last fall marked down to $22 bucks. its the one without sleeves and has the thick lettering on the back. its a little tight on me but i'll get it signed by him then frame it. for 22 bucks i couldn't go wrong.

I'm not going to buy a jersey of anyone this year since there are rumors that they might be changing their jerseys next year. I remember a couple of christmas' ago when I got a Chad Johnson jersey then a month later the Bengals unveiled new jereseys, d'oh!

Saw someone with an Arroyo jersey in the bleachers at yesterday's game. Couldn't tell if it was just a t-shirt or an actual jersey.

I've never bought a jersey myself, but I was given an Akili Smith jersey and a Ki-Jana Carter jersey.

When she bought me a Carson Palmer jersey, I politely threw it out.

This has been talked around and around. Arroyo does not have such a clause in his contract and he doesn't have enough service time to request a trade. Whether he'll be here the entire three years is an open question, but it's not a contractual issue.

I have seen some on ebay, but they are not official. Someone has sewn on his name and number to a generic reds jersey. It does not have the 3D red black letters.

I saw a few of those at a recent game and walked up to a guy and asked how much he paid for it. I thought he said "seventy-five", so I was all excited and ran over to the main gift shop with my son. We walked upstairs, I found the jersey and as I was walking back down I took a look at the price tag.

$275.

Uhh. I was back up those stairs in no time. Ended up buying nothing but a few baseballs and a t-shirt for the little one. I was still in shock as I walked out the door.

I saw some authentic jerseys on ebay... $119 plus $10 ship. These are not the generic jersey with the sewn on letters and numbers.

May I ask the most basic question ever asked in the history of earth, which I've always wondered but avoided asking due to its basicness? Why ARE jerseys so expensive?

Huge markups I am guessing... $119 isn't a great deal... but its cheaper than the Reds shop.

Because people will pay that much for them.
