I'm curious, has anyone ever been given a conditional release?

let's see if I have this right.

A guy DanO traded for gets off to a decent offensive start and yet nobody wants him, go figure.

You know DanO was lobbying Melvin hard in Milwaukee.

No but I hear he stole some conditioner from the clubhouse.

Sure. We hear about conditional waivers every August. That's the other waiver wire that players must clear in order to be traded after the trade deadline.

We gave up the Arizona Fall Player of the year for that joker... and someone else too, IIRC.

Sheesh DanO. The legacy continues to grow.

The utter and complete incompetence of one Dan O'Brien still continues to amaze me, even after he's long gone.

I don't know why people are rejoycing about bad circumstances for a player who: a) was no longer on the Reds anyway in any circumstance b) did his best for the Reds and c) seemed like a good guy. Some people will go to sick extremes for their ideological beliefs.

I prefer DanO to chicken pox - its the gift that keeps on giving...and takes a while to get over.

there aren't many things funnier in this life to me than a situation like this....except for human suffering of course. Oh and financial ruin.

Well, he's been known to make things happen, so if lack of conditioner helps the Reds' hitters mash the ball, way to go TMack.

It's all about the little things. ;)

I've just been working with the math on Womack and basically the Reds will be on the hook for about 700 Grand of his remaining contract. He'll hook on with someone, so they'll pick up the prorated share of the league minimum (I think about $325 Grand), so that 217 Thousand will go off the remaining 917 Thousand due yet on his contract.

Maybe they can stop payment on Danno's last expense check to help defray the cost eaten.

That's got to look good on the DanO portfolio when he is hunting for a new GM job (most likely in fine cities such as Grand Rapids and Scraton-Wilkesbarre)

I heard that Scranton would welcome him with open arms, but Wilkes-Barre wants nothing to do with him.
