Watched Sosa (of the Braves) throw a 98 mph fastball on the outside black.....whew!
I am aching for the days of Jose Rijo's 92 mph slider.....

Did Sosa's 98 go the other way just as fast?

The Reds are 19-8. I'm not aching for anything, other than tommorow nights ballgame.

Sosa can throw hard, but also walks alot of people.
He walked 64 batters in 134 Innings last year.
Hes already walked 8 batters in 15.2 innings this year.
Sosa also throws alot of pitches and is usually out of the game by the 5th inning.

And let's not forget that the Rockies have a losing record at home this year at 5-7. They and Oakland (also 5-7 at home) are the only division leaders with losing records at home (the weak-weak west) at this point.
The old REDS liked AZ (next after COL). 4-2 the last two years in AZ.

The Reds could just as easily win tommorow by a score of 12-3 as lose by that same score. I see nothing to be affraid about. When your playing this well, you can't wait for the next game.
Let's play two!

I saw him throw 99MPH once at a Braves game.

I am not saying Sosa is Nolan Ryan (who also wakked his share) just that seeing a pitcher throw a ball that a good ML hitter cannot catch up to makes me yearn a bit for a successful hard thrower on the staff.
It is the 6th inning and Sosa is throwing 91-93 mph.....so I can see that he cannot substain it.....he is also getting wacked.
Seems to me that Sosa might improve with a little Chris Reitsma treatment (moved to short relief).
