Nice time on baseball tonight. KRUK even said he sees the REds hanging around until Oct. REds starting to get some respect with this offense and Arroyo, but most everyone still agrees they need a pitcher or two to hang all year. I agree, but hopefully this will get the crowds at GABP and we will use that extra money and go make a move.

What did the mouth of the south Peter (know it all)Gammonds say??

RedsMan3203

Gammonds had some good stuff to say about Edwin...

Like him pretty much being the X-Factor in the lineup....

Said soon as he gets his feet set on D he gonna be a good one (duh)

They talked about our D improving and its going to keep improving because Edwin is still young and is getting better...

Kruk talked about our bulpen... Coffey and Weathers.... Only bad thing he came up with was 7 walks for Weathers.. But liked his 1k per inning.

Well...

I really like what's going on and I really think this team is going to do well due to the ownership change and the GM change, BUT...

We went through this two years ago and the result was...

a losing season.

It's still May, you know.

Yeah...I remember that. I also recall it was "440" feet. If that ball only went 440 feet, I can run right now.

It's still kind of nice to see our guys getting just a tad of respect for what they're doing NOW!! Because they deserve it.

And it sounds like a ton of you are already chalking up this season as one big downslide before the games are even played. Just because that's what happened in the past doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen this year. Certainly, it could... but why keep dwelling on it?

If it happens, you can say "I told you so", but in the meantime, why not enjoy it and try not to think about that little niggle of season(s) past that keeps popping up more and more often in every thread.

It seems like the better the Reds do, the more we keep getting reminded about the past.

You know something I've thought that several times but then I think of something I heard during Castellini's speech as he officially took over the team from Lindner. He said something to the extent that if the Reds were in a position of contention that he would get the neccessary pieces this year. Truthfully if the Reds do fall down and finish the season below .500 I won't be as disappointed as in 2004 because I realize the season won't be lost because the Reds management/ownership don't care. It will be because the team wasn't good enough and they deserve to be where they are.

Me, too. You have to enjoy it while you can. But I can remember back in 1990 when I expected it to end at almost any time. It never did. That's what we all hope for.

Unfortunately, too many times, Reds fans see the whole thing crumble before their eyes. I hope it doesn't happen this year. We need to win. It's been soooo long.
