View Full Version : Eric Milton vs. Dave Williams - which would you rather have?

Milton was terrible last year, one of the worst ever .. but right now when he is off the DL I think he would be better than what Williams is right now, don't you think?

Other than being long-balled to death, Milton is way better than Williams. Williams just gets crushed no matter how you look at it. Homeruns or not.

Eric Milton vs. Dave Williams - which would you rather have?

I choose option 3.

Milton by far.

Sad to say it but definatly Milton without question

Williams, only because he's cheap and easy to dump.

Milton had a solid spring and first few starts. And I think it was due to his knee really being healthy.

That game vs the Cubs where, I think, he tripled, and then got caught up with the 3Bman on the errant pickoff throw from Zambrano, did something to that knee. He wasn't the same afterwards, and then ended up on the DL.

But I'd take him over Williams in a heart beat. If Williams can't consistently work that slow sweeping curve - he's fresh meat. ;)

Milton showed us in Spring Training and through the first two starts of the year what he can do when he's healthy. He can get it up there around 94 MPH and change speeds well and also keep the ball down. He's going to give up some long balls, but if there's nobody on you can live with them.

Dave Williams, on the other hand, is just plain awful, even on a good day.

Even if Milton wasn't completely healthy, I'd take him over Williams in the rotation any day of the week.

This shouldn't even be debatable.

Definitely Milton. But what about some of the Louisville starters?? And what about Wilson?

On a sane team, this wouldn't be an issue. On this one, reluctantly, Milton.

death by hanging or by firing squad, not exactly pleasant choices

I cannot wait for Milton's $$$ to come off the books. Can we get a countdown on the homepage?

Milton, not even close.

Milton. Williams is a knuckleballer who adds spin to it.

Milton with Williams' contract.

Milton, without a doubt. Williams is a disaster waiting to happen, and the disaster comes early and often. It's really hard to believe there's nobody better in AAA than him. Also, when Milton comes back, would the Reds really keep Williams over E. Ramirez??

No kidding. If I'm forced to choose one of these two, I guess it would have to be Milton. I'd rather they were both off the roster though.

Milton's first 2 starts were Awesome! And really that 3rd start he was already hurt, went on the DL the next day after finding out he couldnt pitch through it.

I pick him over Williams all day. Williams needs to goto the pen "maybe".

That's like deciding between an appendectomy and a tonsilectomy!

They both stink on ice!

I would take Milton......he will give you the occasional quality start, while Williams has shown me that he is completely worthless this season.:bang: :bang: and we traded CASEY for this guy?????????

Thanks OB
