A little late...

Louisville is in the 9th inning leading Durham 8-0:
HR: LOU: R. Stratton (6), J. Gutierrez (3).

Chattanooga is in the 3rd leading Mobile 5-0:
Dumatrait no hitter so far and Varner is 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs.

Dumatrait loses his no hitter and shutout thanks to 3 walks and a hit.
Chattanooga still up 5-1.

While it would seem natural to promote Dumatrait up another level, it seems to me that he's already been in Louisville, for whatever reason he was started at Chatty, where he is now doing very well. I say they keep him there and let him dominate to generate some interest from other teams or bring him up to the Reds straight from Chatty at some point and give him a shot. He's a lefty, maybe he's the classic later developing southpaw.

Dumatrait: 5 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts in Chattanooga's 8-4 win over Mobile.

Joey Votto went 1-for-2 with a double and three walks.

James Avery is pitching for Sarasota; Travis Wood for Dayton.

Well I turned on the Dragons radio broadcast and they were in a rain delay and the game is about to get under way.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wood couldn't use another half year of Billings. If you look at his "short" numbers from Billings last year, he was leveling off from ripping up rookie ball though it wasn't exactly showing up in the stats yet. Most likely, the trouble wouldn't have been to far away.

He also doesn't have the "sore arm" excuse Bailey used for his June/July swoon last year as well(remember, through May, Bailey was very good last season).

Lefties are strange bee's, handle with care.

Wood gave up another homer in the top of the 2nd. Dayton is losing 3-1 mid 2nd.

Travis Wood 1st and 2nd innings 46 pitches.. then 3rd, 4th, 5th 36 pitches. He just has to get his pitch count down in the early rounds. but he was getting stronger before his pitch count got him.

On the radio Mike Vanderwood was talking about the Dragons manager saying that Wood is having a problem locating his stuff at times and that they are wroking on it.
